Jurgen Klopp confirmed :cheer:

This is exciting. Now I am genuinely excited for the rest of the season.

Liverpool still wont win anything this season.

We're still in 4 competitions - always a chance!

I don't really care tbh. This is the best appointment we could have made. We'll be able to attract better players, I dare say he might even bring out the best in some of our players. We are going to be playing some sexy football by next season.

Big Sam appointed Sunderland manager on a two year deal... they'll probably stay up now.

As big a rebuilding job as when he joined West Ham I'd say, assume Kevin Nolan will be joining him!

That surprises me, he didn't exactly get appreciated as much as he deserved at West Ham & no doubt Sunderland will ship him out this time next season.

He's got definitely quite a task there at Sunderland, Big Sam has to turn it all around.

Has Sam Allardyce ever been relegated before?

Football must be one of the very few professions where getting sacked from your job doesn't hinder you in getting a new one. Managers like Claudio Ranieri never have to wait too long for the next vacancy

When he was manager at Notts Country during the 1996-97 season although he joined them in January.

He becomes the first manager to manage Newcastle and Sunderland.

No doubt he'll oversee a Sunderland victory against Newcastle in 2 weeks time too as has become tradition.
I hope that Louis Van Gaal watched the Alex Ferguson documentary on BBC One tonight. He could pick up some useful tips ;)

Sam Allardyce is such an under appreciated manager.

I know he doesn't play the most attractive football but it's undeniable how much he's turned around Bolton and made them into a team that were top 10 on a yearly basis, as soon as left the club were a sinking ship and the same applies for Blackburn, the moment he left Blackburn were relegated.

He turned West Ham into a team that played good football and created a very strong team.

Yeah big Sam is an under appreciated manager but I don't think he will be able to save Sunderland this season, they don't have enough quality in the team at the moment to stay up.

I'll give him credit for a lot but I wouldn't stretch that far. We were great last season for about three months when Carroll and Nolan were injured, then reverted back to the dogshit of 2013-14 which wasn't good enough with the money spent.

Saying that, he was the perfect man to have in charge for his first two (arguably three) seasons and I'll be forever grateful that he brought us up and kept us there. Sunderland's squad has some quality in it and I reckon with a decent January window he'll keep them up.

I'm in two minds about whether they'll stay up. Allardyce is a huge coup for them who's done it so many times but I just can't see who else would be going down in their place? Bournemouth are surely definites but then I've no clue. Watford & Norwich look good money so far and Newcastle/Villa always find a way out of trouble (2009 aside).

Villa are certs to go down, and I think Bournemouth too, especially with Wilson injured. Just not enough to get consistent results. All it takes if for one team to go on a mighty losing spell and it could be curtains for them.

Does Mourinho ever learn?

He has labelled his £50,000 fine by the FA for comments about match officials after Chelsea's 3-1 defeat to Southampton a disgrace.

I'm PRAYING for Arsenal to lose today, to wipe the cocky smirks of the faces of their fans and to see the rants on ArsenalFanTV on YouTube.
Mad weekend of football. No surprise to see if Sterling is played centrally he actually plays well.

Silly behaviour yesterday from James McClean after the final whistle against Sunderland.
