Was really hoping Brighton would win the play offs but that doesn't seem likely now. It's been a long time since Sheffield Wednesday were in the Premier League so they would be the next best option for me.

I've always supported the idea of the play-offs (although I would prefer a different format), but everything seemed to conspire against Brighton last night, including the fact that Wednesday had been able to rest their players in their final league game as it was meaningless. Only one player in their starting line-up last night had started their last league game. Brighton, OTOH, still had something to play for in that last match, so put out the best team available.

I can't recall a previous game where a team lost four players to injuries in the first hour. Before the first two players went off, the teams were fairly evenly matched, but it became an uphill struggle from that point on. We just have to hope that they can overturn the deficit on Monday, but several players looked pretty tired last night.

No I can't either..it would have to happen to us though!!

I haven't got a problem with the playoffs, they can be really exciting unless your Brighton who seem to have issues with them! lol

I think the top three teams should all just go up automatically!! ^_^

I bet you weren't saying that in 2004...

It should be Sheffield Wednesday through to the play-off final tonight providing they hold any comeback from Brighton.

We couldn't have given any more there, incredible effort from Derby and restored the pride we lost in the disaster on Saturday. I wasn't even going to bother watching tonight as there was no point in compounding the misery with that 3 goal deficit, our poor away record and Hull's superb home record, but that early goal give me a snippet of hope for me to watch and worth the watch it certainly was! I think we just ran out of steam 15 minutes from the end but the effort was undeniable.

Hopefully Sheff Wed go on to win the final just because it'd be nice to have a team who hasn't been in the Premier League for ages to return!

Hull are through to the play off final after beating Derby 3-2 on aggregate. I really hope Sheffield Wednesday beat them in the final.

I think Hull will win tomorrow but I hope I'm wrong. It's been 16 years since Sheffield Wednesday were last in the Premier League so it would be good to see them back after such a long absence.

Hull winning a play-off final 1-0 brings back painful memories for me :(

Congratulations on promotion, though ^_^

Congratulations to Hull City and Steve Bruce in the £200m playoff game.

£200 million seems crazy really. I think it was £60 million in 2008, and that seemed a lot back then.

I can see Hull along with Burnley both only lasting one season and being relegated together again.
I find it interesting that the attendance was only 70,189, which seems very low for a Championship play-off final. In fact, that's lower than the JPT final between Bristol City and Walsall last season, which had 72,315. I find that astonishing to be honest.

Hull didn't sell out their allocation of tickets. Also for the corporate people who got tickets neither of these teams is a "big" name to pull you in.

Hull only sold 25k, that's pretty poor really. Wednesday sold their full allocation of just under 40k, and they weren't given anymore for some reason. There were loads of empty seats in the top tier which were left unsold in the Hull end.

The attendance for the Bristol City v Hull play-off final was 86,703, and Hull easily sold their allocation. I know it was a bit of a different situation then as they hadn't been in the top flight before, and the Wembley novelty factor has probably worn off bit now, but that's a big drop in attendance. I know there are a number reasons why Hull only took 25k, but It's still a poor effort overall.
