Weirdly I found Christine way more convincing than I've ever found Les.

Me too! I was really worried about this story and how they'd film it or even write it but it was really well acted and written!

That Halloween trailer though! Can't wait looks exciting from the preview, just hope it delivers some great episodes

The actor who plays Les actually did a really good job of portraying Christine imo, his sort of awkwardness really fitted the situation and actually if you think about it now it gives a lot more depth to his character as we can now see why he's always kinda jittery, I never found his acting that bad if I'm honest but yea I was impressed with how he handled the Christine scenes in that episode. Very glad that Claudette was included though and her scene with Pam was very much needed as I hate seeing issues like this filmed from a sort of ignorant point of view, if that makes sense (like with the Sonia/Martin/Tina story line Sonia rarely was called bisexual, it was always just "oh so she's a lesbian now" when that's not how it works ), so to have Claudette there explaining it more to Pam was great as it will hopefully have a positive impact on the people watching ^_^

Really agree with both these points! If you told me a week ago that I would like this storyline, I'd never have believed it, but it's been portrayed so well and Les and Paul's respective actors really stepped up to the mark. Les as Christine showed proper character and emotion and I can see myself warming to Les a lot more as a result - like you say, Lindsey, there's been some sort of explanation to Les' awkwardness. I love how for the first time in ages, Eastenders has gone back to changing people's perceptions - we've got Pam who has understandable but ignorant worries which a lot of people will have themselves and Les as Christine trying to change the misconceptions, for instance, when she thinks he must be gay or want to become a woman. I'm looking forward to seeing what the producers have in store for Kyle, the transexual character - even if the two stories aren't involved with one another, it can only further show different a transvestite and a transexual are.

That advert looks exciting but I do hope they're not doing a repeat of last year with Kathy being stalked by someone in fancy dress!

VERY excited about the Halloween episode! Isn't it now one year since the iconic Abi/Lauren drowning scene?

Nothing this year will be so iconic tbh.

I love the bit when Dennis wanted to put a picture of Phil on the pumpkin  nearly spat my tea out as I was drinking it.
So Debbie Harry Margret is Gavin's sister? And it's all but confirmed Gavin is Sharon's dad. Still, I'm getting quite excited about what's to come of this storyline.
I might have the feeling what's happened with Phil....
When I first heard about the profound impact that the kidnap would have on Phil, I presumed it would be sexual assault of some kind. However, now I'm thinking it was possibly something less physical and more mentally warping since Gavin is so good at mind games.
Well that much is obvious, but I would hope there's more to it than that.

A sexual assault/rape storyline could be a fantastic storyline if done well, and Steve, when giving strong material knows how to deliver. A character like Phil is often seen as indestructible with no fear and things like rape couldn't happen to him, this type of storyline would show it truly can happen to anyone no matter how strong or weak a person is. Phil is seen as someone who can fight his way out of everything and a storyline of this nature could really show that when something as horrific as this happens to a person their body just freezes and stops working and not everyone can fight there way out of such a situation.

They probably wont go in this direction with the Linda storyline so recent, would they go with some type of mutilation storyline, this was done in an Irish tv series called Love Hate, the scene was horrific but yet powerful, this isn't something i recall seeing covered in a soap before either but i could be wrong in saying that.

Yeah, I thought sexual assault too, given Ben's sexuality and Linda's rape storyline were both mentioned in the same episode, and then Phil was just left in a room with alcohol which was the only thing that could block it out.
Looking forward to tomorrow's episode, I think its got something to do with those fireworks
Also looking forward to tomorrow's episode.
