It did go to no.1! The chart-run just looks funny I think, it just means it was a re-entry when it came back in at number one!

It first peaked in the top 75 at #71 when his album was released and then six months later after performing on X Factor, it re-entered the top 75 straight at #1

The very chart run you're responding to says its week at #71 was 2 weeks before it got to #1... :P It didn't chart at all on the album release, that first chart week was when it started to get some airplay.
