A quick reminder to the far right among us that death sentrnces cost a lot more than life imorisonment, turn all of society into murderers (ironic), and unless you believe in hell, oh but if you do and believe in forgiveness then..., then the person is, in fact, ESCAPING punishment in some ways.

Jesus demonstrated he believed in handouts to the poor and needy, forgiveness, condemned greed for wealth and those who aspired for that against the poor and powerless. Pretty sure he would have been crucified in the modern sense, slagged off mercilessly and ridiculed.

Patel and the other multicultural and multi-ethnic "minority" Tories generally prove my theory that growing up as a minority in no way guarantees empathy and compassion for others. My observations in life are that anyone whatsoever can be a total selfish dick. It's a real leveller. I offer as proof the whole of human history and the current state of the world and the current Tory Party who we voted to run the country and gave permission to carry out these policies and behave as they have.

So, a fair proportion of the United Kingdom, then.....

Well it’s good news that Johnson is now facing an investigation over whether he misled Parliament. Partygate will remain the news for some time to come and hopefully add further damage to the Tory party, regardless of whether Johnson stays in post.

Several MPs calling for him to go - including the extremely influential and dangerous (for many reasons) Steve Baker. But with Truss not being popular and Sunak blowing it there is noone obvious to replace Johnson. The likes of Tugendhat and Hunt will not be tolerated by the Brexiter wing of the party which are too strong as they have swallowed up UKIP.

Meanwhile in news that won't surprise absolutely anyone, Tories support far right in France over centrist.

It really sums up the state of the Tory party in 2022 that they are standing by the worst PM in my lifetime because the can't come up with a suitable replacement. Indeed, some MPs have admitted as much.
3 separate investigations into Johnson, a range of MPs across his party not standing by him on this, well aware that the longer he stays the more damage is done to the Conservative party, it's sad that it's more incredible to me that some Tory MPs are actually calling for him to go.

I haven’t liked any of the other Tory leaders but I did at least respect the likes of Cameron and May, even if I didn’t agree with their policies. However, Johnson is in a unique category of his own. He is a fake; has no substance or credibility about him and is completely insincere. I don’t trust him an inch and suspect a lot more will surface yet about partygate before he goes.

Not sure how true that is - I think a lot of them are fearful if they rebelled they would be kicked out ala Brexit. I think the Cabinet is too tainted by Johnson (and loyal in some cases) and the more moderate wing I'm not sure have a chance in the short term of seizing power back.

That wing of the party proved how weak it was in 2019 when it took absolutely ages for Tory rebels to pop up and when they finally did (in a non meaningful way as they refused to join forces with Labour) were dealt with brutally. They don't have the full force of our destructive, overseas owned media on their side, so will have zero chance now.

Although if we are referrring to the likes of Cameron and Osbourne, who claimed we are "All in this together" after the financial crisis and enforced brutal cuts to the most vulnerable in society whilst increasing the wealth for purely ideaological reasons, as moderate that is truly depressing.

But they were moderate in comparison to the Nutters running the country now. As I said years ago, Brexit would lead to a No-Holds-Barred version of Tories running the country. Being ideologically stupid is much less offensive than being outright lying cruel hypocritical useless bunch of self-serving corrupt propagandists.

And people fell for it. Still do.

The vote to set up an enquiry into Johnson's conduct wasn't the only thing to happen in parliament yesterday. The government voted against parliament being allowed to see and scrutinise the costs of their hate-inspired Rwanda scheme.

Nadi9ne Dorries, appointed to the Cabinet to make Johnson look competent and Raab intelligent, has made a video in which she explains what her department does. She says it is responsible for policing the internet, where you can "downstream your movies", and sport, including the provision of tennis pitches.
According to the Guardian, there is speculation that Johnson has been issued a further fine by the police. If true, this will be incredibly damaging for him and I can’t see how he is going to survive long term. It’s only a matter of time before he is gone hopefully.

I don't think Johnson will be going anywhere sadly, it's far easier for the Conservatives to use him to soak up all the bad feeling and misery that comes with the substancial increase in cost of living this year- and then change leader in 2023 to present a 'new front' from which to win the General Election again the following year. It's what they do. The toxic environment that has been created in the aftermath of the Brexit vote, which has enabled someone as utterly unfit for office as Johnson to become PM, is not going away..

There was a telling comment from Johnson this week to the opposition benches: 'they've got no ideas'. I see no signs of any optimism for this country, the United Kingdom will continue to fall apart sadly.

I agree Johnson is completely unfit for office but if the Tories do badly at the local elections then that could well be the trigger for a leadership contest.
Steve Baker was the important one who removed his support this week!

Baker's soundbite is the one continually getting the media rounds - watching the debate live I can see why as he started out being one of the only voices there sounding like he has a defence of Johnson before somehow turning it round into a devastating cut-thrust - I think that one has aspirations of leadership after being responsible for so many PM falls. He has the image for the Tory party to believe it'd work, and he's dangerously right-wing.

It could all go horribly wrong but right now I'd feel quite happy fighting against a small-government extremist (and absolute crank on a multitude of issues) at a time when national services are f**ked on an electoral standpoint.

Baker always refuses cabinet positions so I imagine he enjoys being a backbench destroyer!
