Yeah, the Mail article is vile and purely a tactic to distract from the Tories current problems.

The vile media hardly never gets any comeback from disgusting articles like that. Ok the News of the World did for phone hacking but that was years ago and a one off. They are truly the scum of our society to use a Rayner word.

not specifically aimed at you but a good point to insert a rebuttal as to why it's not always a distraction tactic and yes they really are that immoral/braindead/bad at politics (delete as appropriate, in this case as it's spurred on by the Mail On Sunday, definitely the immoral one).

if it keeps making the Tories look bad and the outrage over this article is definitely good for Labour/Rayner, then it's not a distraction. They would rather it not be happening.

Johnson was on the news today regarding the Angela Raynor fiasco stating he would ‘unleash terrors of the earth’. Just what on earth does that mean? He is full of bull, has no substance and talks rubbish most of the time. Why he was ever elected as PM in the first place is beyond me.

Oh understand the reason he was elected but they are depressing. A charismatic lying chameleon who would do the bidding of the media and enrich the Tories’ ultra right wing backers. He pretends to be charming but stirs up all kinds of hatred against minorities in ‘divide and rule’ masterclass.

I’m not expecting a huge rout of the Tories on 5th May but am praying for at least a moderate sized swing against them.

Labour are ahead in the polls by upto 12 points at the moment but not sure how this will translate at local elections in terms of votes. I’m hoping the Tories will lose lots of seats but I’m not confident that Labour will do brilliantly. There is still an issue over how the party is perceived among the wider public in terms of their electability. Given we have had nearly 15 terrible years of the Tories, resulting in austerity, the cost of living crisis, partygate and the shambolic handling of covid, I would have expected Labour to be doing much better to be honest. I suspect it will be far closer at a general election and most probably result in a hung Parliament. One would hope if this was the outcome, Labour would forge an alliance with other parties to keep the Tories out.

Even if the Tories have a shambolic night in the local elections and the Sue Gray report is very damning, can you still see Johnson clinging on for a further two years to fight the next General Election?

If they do badly at the local elections then I deffo think there will be a leadership contest at some point.

The Elections Bill was passed in the House of Lords last night. It introduces mandatory photo ID to be able to vote (solving a problem of voter fraud that doesn't exist) and gives the government control over the previously independent Electoral Commission.

Lib Dem peers voted against. Labour peers went home.

What is the point of Labour? They do know that being collaborationist won’t stop the Tories sending them to the gas chambers right?

It’s because their MPs aren’t ideologically Labour they are basically liberals.

Neil Parish daft enough to go on TV to be interviewed after being caught watching porn in parliament. Maybe just reason and hide
Interestingly Parish has resigned despite NOT breaking the law!

He's lost interest in tractors now. He is an ex-tractor fan.
