back a couple of decades back I ran out space for CD's and vinyl so decided to sell some vinyl singles and put them in a garage - I'd mostly bought the CD singles anyway so as being too recent (80's/90's) or reissues I didn't have the emotional attachment I had to older singles - so I bagged them up put them in the garage....and forgot about them till we had to convert the garage into a downstairs bedroom for mum and dad.

 

Just decided to open up one of 'em and see whats inside:

Everyone set for RSD tomorrow? I’m actually going early to our local shop for once in the hope they’ll stock what I want and I can avoid the 6pm madness

Yessss I'm planning to go earlier than usual as well after emailing my local and them advising it, because some of what I want is quite in demand!

My mum told me last weekend that one of my favourite indie store 'Raves From The Grave' (Warminster) is closing down. :( So sad, used to love popping in there - they had a sofa upstairs with a record player and headphones where you could put on a record and try before you buy.. guess ppl prefer to just use Spotify nowadays.

Jeeeez I’ve arrived and the queue is horrendous. The owner has been down and I think it’s unlikely that he’s going to have anything I want left! Gah!

Same here. I came to the same I came to last year. I was around 12th in line then and hot all I wanted as I was the only Pop consumer in the queue. This year I came an hour earlier and I'm already 22nd in line with a couple kids, girls and gays ahead of me in the queue. The likelihood of me getting Ariana, Gaga and tATu is low. The lady even told me 'I wish you luck' when she got my list

 

Scratch that - they just came back and told me they've got nothing for me. F##k

Ha! I also scanned the queue ahead of me and thought “shit, those three are definitely here for Gaga”!!!

I'm just sticking around as I still want to support the store so I'll probably get something from I have on my back-up list but probably gonna end up just getting the Austin Powers soundtrack from last year out of sheer politeness.

 

Dreading 6pm online sales 🤦🏼‍♂️

I stuck around and got my hands on the Lara Croft soundtrack - steep price though. Also Austin Powers from last year. At the very least I helped out the store a little bit and that feels good.

Gonna try the online sales for the t.a.t.u but I'm not sure I'll bother with Gaga and Ariana bnow. #skint

 

I saw that Lara Croft soundtrack in my store but it was ridiculously priced!

Managed to get loads!! Still out shopping so I’ll let you know what I got when I get the chance to sit down. The one glaring omission was ‘Chromatica’ - apparently the last copy went an hour before I got there and two guys both really wanted it and flipped a coin for it :rofl:

I’m awaiting confirmation emails but I think I’ve managed to grab Lady Gaga, Noel Gallagher, Róisín Murphy, Fred Again, Super Furry Animals, Chemical Brothers, Tatu & Republica in the end!

I have to say that the Tatu album sounds pretty flat, it’s okay but doesn’t have the impact that it could do

I don’t have a participating record store anywhere near me, so it was a very stressful 20 minutes at 6pm. Providing everything processed correctly and there aren’t any stock fulfilment errors, I managed to get everything I wanted - Lady Gaga, Roisin Murphy, Little Mix, Linkin Park and t.A.T.u.
