I think I've ended the year with about 15. Even though I'd liked the idea of buying vinyl for a while it wasn't something I allowed myself to do as I could see it becoming quite addictive and I'd spend far too much money on, but this year I thought as I would with a sudden rise in disposable income and artists I love speaking out about how financially hit they'd been. I've largely stuck to buying new albums by smaller acts but on the few occasions I've been into the city centre this year I've always come out of Rough Trade with something.

Oh I've been toying with that Orielles album. I hadn't heard them until the other day when I was looking at some end of year lists and I quite liked the track I heard.

I think it's a great album, not really listened to anything of theirs until this year with Space Samba which is a bit of a banger. Quite a unique style I find, interesting subjects to write about too.

Some great choices there Mark! It is very addictive yes, but I try to limit myself to albums (or singles) that I really love and to not buy too many. That's a lovely idea buying mainly records by smaller bands and artists to help support them.

I am most happy to have purchased a copy of Thom Yorke's original pressing of The Eraser today on eBay... I offered the quite reasonable start price on eBay and the seller accepted when I wasn't expecting him to at all. He also had a copy of Herbert's Scale vinyl too so I got that too ^_^

I have just ordered a vinyl player for Christmas (a gift from my parents) :heart:

 

I currently have Madonna and Gaga albums on vinyl, so I am very excited to play them on Christmas day and then spend 2021 building my collection up. Might be turning to you guys in here often for advice :heehee:

The bluetooth feature seems too good to miss and the fact it still has capability to connect to speakers gives best of both worlds. I also love the chic design and it will fit perfectly with my grey, black and white room aesthetics so that was another factor!

It looks okay to me Haus, the Bluetooth feature is definitely a plus. Plus it willl look the same as the trendier ones if you just don’t have the cover on so I think it looks pretty authentic - just depends how often you want to clean it!

 

I’m toying with a Rega one but they’re expensive and I’m not sure I can justify it
