August 28, 201510 yr Should've been Biology that went top 10 really, now that is one Girls Aloud song that deserves the hype.
August 28, 201510 yr WE FOUND LOVE TO WIN PLEASE :DÂ 'Call The Shots' is great, shame to see it exit over some of the poorer songs remaining.
August 28, 201510 yr Author pK7egZaT3hs 8 36 2005 Arctic Monkeys - I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor 368 ( 58 - 172 - 7 - 26 - 19 - 22 - 16 - 16 - 36 - 8 ) Also somewhat of a shock top 10, although it has been top 10 before, back in the 'before-times' of 2008 when Buzzjack was a very different place to what it is now. Yet throughout all that Arctic Monkeys, despite being a band of men playing hetero-friendly music, has remained top 40 and given its forged a legacy as one of the greater indie-rock anthems of people in the real world, that does make a certain sort of sense. It's taken the mantle of highest male track from Mr. Brightside, to hold it for one more year before it too leaves the competition. happen. It DID have 3 maximums, the most of any track so far I think, RobinJuanPersie, Suedehead and Jaco8472 so it's got a lot of love from certain quarters. But for now, to go out on such a high like this, I'm really pleased that we've let this storming debut leave far higher than it arrived.
August 28, 201510 yr It's an alright song but When The Sun Goes Down is leagues better. I wish they were like their first 2 albums they've gone right off the boil in recent years...
August 28, 201510 yr Author CcNo07Xp8aQÂ 7 15 2010 Robyn - Dancing On My Own 374 ( 20 - 7 - 10 - 15 - 7 )Â Well, we had to get rid of one of the Robyn tracks sooner or later and Dancing On My Own is still in the shadow of With Every Heartbeat despite having had three years in the top 10 and being the highest 2010 track... most of the time. It is again this year. One 30, Leonardo's and 9 top 10s overall, it's doing good but yeah, not quite as much as With Every Heartbeat. Will it ever emerge from that one's shadow? It is at the position With Every Heartbeat was last year after all (clearly last year we were not as pro-Robyn as this we are this year). Anyway yeah, cool track, I would probably rank it lower but it's the sort of thing I'm totally fine with being the top 10 as it is just very well produced, sung and emoted pop. And sometimes that's all you need.
August 28, 201510 yr GA, Arctics and M.I.A  Holding out hope for When The Sun Goes Down getting a final climb next year too :kink:Â Dancing On My Own is wonderful, glad to have it back in the top 10
August 28, 201510 yr That is better than the dire With Every Heartbeat but glad to see one of them out as I was worrying they'd win. I swear I saw Euphoria get about 30pts on the whole 3rd page, where does it amass all these points? Paper Planes doing so well is quite surprising but great to see, don't think I voted for any of the top 10 so far but they're all solid tracks, it was just difficult to vote.
August 28, 201510 yr Author qrO4YZeyl0I 6 1 2009 Lady Gaga - Bad Romance 398 ( 1 - 1 - 2 - 1 - 1 - 6 ) Anyone up for a bit of cat among the pigeons? This is no prank, this is real. Bad Romance has not won a 5th victory. It's not even in the top 5 and it's over 100 points away from the eventual winner. I could not be happier, because I've really wanted something other than Bad Romance to win it while I'm in charge of this thing and it's taken two years of seeing it triumph but NOT THIS YEAR. NOT THIS YEAR. I feel I must restate my opinion on it, I like it, it's a good pop song. I'd probably rank it about 50th-60th out of all this lot though which means I obviously think it should be nowhere near the top and whether it got less votes this year because you were all tired of it winning or you were tired of it generally, that's okay, I count whatever votes come in and not only has it not won, it was never higher than 3rd at any point while adding it up. I'm just a bit gleeful. It did get two maximums but only 8 top 10s which is a lower amount than all of the rest of the top 10 bar Paper Planes, which also got 8 top 10s. Maybe it'll be back and challenging next year, who knows. But for now, let's get a bit of interest back in this game. SOMETHING ELSE HAS WON.
August 28, 201510 yr Oh wow, that IS a shock! But looking at what is left, it HAS to be We Found Love easily. Back To Black is beautiful but I can't imagine it'll come close to winning so Rihanna by a country mile, fingers crossed! --- WANT: 1. We Found Love 2. Back To Black 3. Hung Up 4. Euphoria 5. With Every Heartbeat THINK: 1. Hung Up 2. With Every Heartbeat 3. We Found Love 4. Euphoria 5. Back To Black
August 28, 201510 yr Author TJAfLE39ZZ8Â 5 9 2007 Amy Winehouse - Back To Black 399 ( 23 - 118 - 82 - 4 - 3 - 9 - 9 - 5 )Â Merely one point ahead of Bad Romance, but I'm very glad it turned out that way, so I could do the whole 'Bad Romance falling out of the top 5' thing. And it allows Amy Winehouse back in the top 5 for the first time in two years. So not that long outside it but it is really back up and challenging. Not quite for the win, its still some way off that, but who knows, two more years in this thing, the 'last year effect' has been quite prominent. Back To Black is definitely the highlight of Amy Winehouse's career for me, and I've been far from a fan most of the time. It is so very beautiful. One maximum from randomfurlong but 11 top 10s, almost everyone gave points to at least one of this top 5 if not more.
August 28, 201510 yr Well Bad Romance lost about 20 points this year from me alone... I just have kinda gone off it a bit. We needed a break from each other. Also GRRRR at Rob and his anti-Robyn stance! :o
August 28, 201510 yr Surprisingly early exit for BR, did a bunch of people just get fed up with it? (edit: well, Dandy partly answered my question there :kink:) Still, a very good song though Think a WFL win looks very likely now Anyways, Back To Black climbing <3
August 28, 201510 yr Euphoria is the only song I don't particularly care for in the top 10 and even that's not totally awful, this is a pretty good year!
August 28, 201510 yr Author EDwb9jOVRtUÂ 4 11 2005 Madonna - Hung Up 409 ( 21 - 27 - 17 - 82 - 26 - 6 - 6 - 8 - 11 - 4 )Â I could never begrudge a song getting a new peak on its final year. Even if it denies me the opportunity to make any jokes about how Madonna has fallen because she hasn't, she's climbed 7 places from last year and has done very well indeed in its last go at this game. It's interesting to look at that and to see how it took a long time for it to become a classic that everyone loved, doing well before that but not exceptionally well like it has done in the past five years. And who couldn't love a song that samples ABBA not clumsily, but reverently, building and building until it comes into its own as a masterpiece of pop. I may not have voted for it but I do really enjoy it, it's one of Madonna's finest outings, and because I doubt she'll ever be so high again (unless we get invaded by a bunch of neurotic 4 Minutes or Gimme All Your Lovin' stans), it's probably her peak.
August 28, 201510 yr YES at Bad Romance not winning! Such an overrated track & I would rather any of her other singles winning tbh. Â
August 28, 201510 yr Hung Up  Would have been nice for that to win in it's final year. Glad Robyn has returned to the top 3. I'm expecting a Calvanna win but just hoping she could maybe edge out Euphoria - although I know that track has a pretty rampant following on here!
August 28, 201510 yr Okay, there's DEFINITELY only one winner now, that being Rihanna of course. Two amazing tracks there just gone, Bal actually helping me to get into Hung Up a hell of a lot more recently and Back To Black being a beauty in general.
August 28, 201510 yr Author bcnWysA9gxo 3 6 2012 Loreen - Euphoria 417 ( 4 - 6 - 3 ) Has there ever been a song given more publicity on Buzzjack than Euphoria? I was here for Euphoria-mania in the months between its appointment as Sweden's Eurovision entry and its Eurovision win and it was WILD. And I was all getting swept up in it myself, I played it over and over (to such an extent it's still my most played track years later despite giving it only a handful of listens outside of 2012), and we all yelled about how good Euphoria was. Because it was, and is, a really really good dance song that is really easy for lots of people to like. In a strong way. I love it still, but it got less points than I have given it in the past. Still, with 4 people giving it a maximum score, and a load of people still loving it, it's going strong to remain in the top 10, and even get a new peak, I thought it might be off down this year, but we're still very much in love with Eurovision's biggest crossover winner this century. And long may that continue. So, yeah, that means we're setting up a final duel of Rihanna vs Robyn. With Every Heartbeat vs We Found Love. I'm glad it's ended up this way, the comments in the thread were building to this. I can reveal that both of these were way ahead of Euphoria and there was, in the end, a mere TWO points between them. Who's won? :o
August 28, 201510 yr Euphoria is the one track I'm completely on board with BJ-mania for, it really is a masterpiece :heart:Â Not a massive fan of either track left but would much prefer Robyn to win.
