In a minority here but none of them are in the same league as Children Of The Universe, and I preferred Electro Velvet to any of them. The one that is most likely to get Europoints would be Bianca, the best musically is Darline, the one the most fun Joe & Jake.

The voting public tend to go for "instant appeal" so wouldn't be shocked to see Joe & Jake get it.

It's fair to assume that most viewers will be hearing all six songs for the first time on Friday, so instant appeal is very important. Of course, the same applies to the contest itself. There's no point in entering a song which requires several listens to be fully appreciated. Joe and Jake are also the best eye candy, which won't harm their chances.

Definitely agree that none of these are in the same league as 'Children of the Universe' and I still maintain that Molly could've gone top 10 or very close with much better camerawork and much better stage presence which didn't quite happen back in 2014.

That said I find 5 of them better than Electro Velvet, only A Better Man is worse for me so whatever happens it *should* bar a major surprise be an improvement on last year for me.

Darline are down to evens at some bookies now, pleasantly surprised at how well they are being received. Of course it all depends on the live performances but I still have a feeling Karl will get it as he has the most Eurovision-y song I think (and is singing last if they are going on in the same order as they did on radio).

And also agreed that Joe & Jake have the most instant song which would be good for Eurovision like Suede says!

Like shit could ANY of these hold a candle to Electro Velvet. At least that had personality.
Who do you think you are Harry? Emma Willis?

Ryan Mentioning a women who he hates in order to rekt me...Bless must have took a lot of courage :kink:

Eh?

In a sea of beige, I'm putting my chips on Joe & Jake. It's the closest we've got to an "ok" pop tune that sounds relatively current. And if all else fails, I've got something nice to look at!

Electro Velvet was the most fun, personable and musically unusual entry we've sent in a long time. And with how I tend to like my music, valuing quirkiness, that means it's quite easily the best UK entry of the 21st century for me. Didn't mind how we did with it because I was just so stoked that I could actually support a British entry.

Also, given how I tend to like my music, that means I tend to look down on common beige MoR B-sides that describes five out of six of this sorry lot. And maybe When You Go too, it's interesting enough but it'll come nowhere near close to providing the reactions Electro Velvet got.

THIS!!

I thought Electro Velvet had the best song and stage set up of the competition. I loved it

UNITED KINGDOM
Eurovision: You Decide

26th February 2016
Begins at 7.30pm in the UK, 8.30pm in Central Europe
The show is scheduled to last 1 hour 30 minutes

Watch the selection on Eurovision.tv

Running Order
Click ♫ to listen to each song!

01 | Joe and Jake - You're Not Alone
02 | Bianca - Shine A Little Light
03 | Dulcima - When You Go
04 | Matthew James - A Better Man
05 | Darline - Until Tomorrow
06 | Karl - Miracle

(Running order is rumoured based on the order in which the songs were revealed on BBC Radio 2, however this running order is yet to be confirmed for the national final)

Voting
The voting will be decided by 100% televoting, which includes online votes submitted on the official BBC Eurovision website. There will be an expert panel consisting of Carrie Grant, Katrina Leskanich and staging director Jay Revell however these will have no direct contribution to the result.

Potential Winners?
At the time of writing, all the leading bookmakers have Darline as favourites with odds around the Evens mark. Bianca is second favourite with odds averaging around 3/1 with Karl slightly ahead of Joe and Jake as third and fourth favourites respectively, with both of their odds around the 5/1 mark. It would be a surprise if either Dulcima or Matthew James took victory as they are averaging odds around 14/1 and 33/1 respectively.

Guest Performers
During the show there will be two guest performances. 1997 Eurovision winner Katrina Leskanich will perform 'Love Shine A Light' and reigning Eurovision champion Måns Zelmerlöw will perform 'Heroes'.

Further details available at ESC Today
How many times has Katrina done Love Shine A Light on our national final? I vaguely remember her doing a remix of it once.

I've become quite emotionally invested Joe and Jake and Darline now to the point that I rather love both songs.

Going to be gutted if somebody else wins, three months of feigning enthusiasm for and seeing deluded UK fans proclaiming we have a shot at the win with Miracle before we limp into 22nd place is not something to look forward to.

Think this is only her second time - I'm sure she went through a stage of hating the gays/Eurovision etc, and then when the Butlins tours dried up she returned with a dance mix of LSAL

Placed a bet on Matthew and will be voting for him tonight :P

She seemed pretty enthusiastic and loveable when I saw her at a Pride event in Gran Canaria about 11 or 12 years back :P
