Oh dear, Little Mix have lost pace in the album race, Elvis is going to beat them.

Ellie up to 3.

Shame they had such little promo this week - could end up at #4 by Friday but hopefully they have good sales.

Yeah. I reckon #4 will be about right. :( They should've had that promo in between XF and done SCLSP2!

I knew top 2 was too good to be true :(

Just seen the sales so far:

01. Little Mix - Get Weird 34,716

02. Elvis Presley - If I Can Dream 34,150

03. Ellie Goulding - Delirium 25,522

Top 3 on lock I think. I'd say they're safe for top 2 too, but we've seen gaps close quickly before so Ellie could potentially still get there. But we'll see. I'm confident in a number 2 album at least though!

Thanks to Joe. For making me aware of this!

(Also, 'Love Me Like You' is looking safe for a top 15 position!)

Jesys voice is just sublime. I know shes v marmite but so much freakin emotion!
I agree with this so much . I just love Jesy's voice I just love the emotion she brings to her voice on the ballads . And her smooth sultry tone she brings to the uptempos . Her and Jades voices are my favourite in the group .

It's a great shame that the girls will miss the top spot. But I have to say their sales are a lot higher than I expected! I was thinking 35k for an end of week sales, not on a Monday midweek!
I am bitterly disappointed they will not get number 1, but, with some luck their sales will pick up and they reclaim the top position.

With 1D/Beeb next week and Adele for the 100 weeks after that, this was their only chance to get #1 with this. Which is why I don't understand why they didn't take full advantage of this week and do a lot more promo (and why the Get Weird advert is hardly being shown, but Ellie's is everywhere?!)

I'm certain the album will remain consistent over Q4 considering they have performances on Alan Carr, Sunday Brunch, Loose women, Royal Variety and the BBC Music awards over the next month!

Maybe their budget is limited?

I mean isn't Ellie pretty much a worldclass act by now? Little Mix managed to have a few success here and there overseas, but surely it isn't comparable. I'm guessing Ellie just has more money thrown at her and quite frankly, it's understandable.

She's over 9k behind Little Mix in the UK midweeks. Remains to be seen what happens overseas. Perhaps Little Mix's apparent limited budget will pay off better than the money being thrown into Ellie.

I do feel like Ellie's is the more likely album to sell better over time, but who knows... it really depends on whether her next singles do well. Before this week I would have said Ellie was a dead cert to chart higher than Little Mix in the albums chart.

I would have said the same. It's really a feat that Little Mix managed to already sell that much. It shows they have a decent fanbase and they can connect with the British public to a certain extent!

Album is of course down to #2 now, but it's looking pretty safe in that position.

Elvis 60k

Little Mix 45k

Ellie 32k

Beatles 19k

Crazy huge sales for LM, they sold 5097 yesterday, so if they keep that up, which they should because there's still streaming data missing, it'll be their fastest opening!

So incredibly proud of them. It's amazing what a massive number 1 hit does for an era! Also, although its not gone top 10, 'Love Me Like You' was the perfect choice gor selling the album.

Poor The Saturdays/What About Us

Poor The Saturdays/What About Us

To be fair they did get Top 10, which I doubt they would have without it, as much as I love Disco Love (Black Magic part 1) hahaha!

So glad this selling well <3 Excellent album! After a few listens I'd rate it:

11 Black Magic

10 Love Me Like You

09 Weird People

09.5 Secret Love Song (ft. Jason DeRulo)

09 Hair

03 Grown

08 I Love You

09 OMG (it's what Pretty Girls should have been, a bit more funky and with "better" attitude!)

08.5 Lightning (I kinda get how it's DNA part 2 but it cant' hold a candle to DNA <3 I love the gothicy choir bit though!)

08.5 A.D.I.D.A.S.

09 Love Me Or Leave Me

07 I Won't (the keyboard in the riff sounds really cheap )

10 Secret Love Song Pt II (honestly I think this could steal the 11 from Black Magic which says a LOT given BM is probably my current song of the year :o)

07 Clued Up

06.5 The Beginning

Ridiculously consistent album! So strong on the standard edition. The non SLS bonus tracks are kinda weak compared to most of the standards and Grown is irriating af but apart from that, yaaaaaaaaaaaaasss.

'Grown' is actually one of my favourites on the album. I'm holding out hope that a remixed version with a little more oomph will be released as single 4, a la 'How Ya Doin?'.

Fantastic sales. I can't believe they're beating out Ellie by such a large margin, and it's kind of hard to be frustrated about Elvis pipping them to #1 when his sales are that impressive. #2 with their (likely) highest sales debut yet is a brilliant achievement regardless.

Number 2 is a done deal now which is their highest peak to date in the album chart. I in honesty thought Ellie Goulding would outsell Little Mix and they would be number 2 or 3 but i did not foresee Elvis beating them. Elvis entering at number 1 last week bored me, and this week its much worse.

Secret Love Song is incredible. Unpopular opinion but I would love to hear Tich's demo...

Jason's vocals ruin it though, he sounds like a robot

Listening to this now. Initial thoughts are that they've got the singles spot on, but the album isn't living up to 'Salute' which is genuinely one of the best girlband albums of recent times. Then again, it's still a strong album so far and I totally understand if they've had to go a bit poppier to appeal to the little girls. 'Salute' was always going to be hard to match, and near impossible to beat.
Get Weird is #8 in New Zealand :cheer:
