I don't think children going back to school tomorrow will have any affect, they could just buy his song when they come home from school instead. Also I think it would be pretty harsh to go back to school on the first day of September  it would probably be at the end of this week or next Monday when they go back.

They go back thurs where I'm from, I was thinking streaming as much as anything :0)

Kids in Scotland are already back at school aren't they?

Yes 2 weeks ago.

Can't believe how quickly CFTS is dropping. Especially after so many people had it tipped for #1

To be fair it's pre orders were indicating that it would chart in the top 3 at least with a chance of #1 but this must be one of those rare times where pre orders performance for a song doesn't always garuntee it to be a #1/top 3 etc if in the top 70 before release.

Hopefully her VMA performance will keep it steady. She's way ahead of #10 so I don't think she'll drop out of the top 10 anytime soon.

I'm sure all the 2015 Summer anthems will now start to trail off now September is upon us.

Songs like Freak Of The Week, See You Again, Not Letting Go, I Don't Like It I Love It & Where Are U Now will probably all leave within the next 4-6 weeks. Even the massive long-runners like Lean On, Want To Want Me & Trap Queen should be gone by November.

I can see Cheerleader sticking round til 2016 though

Kind of glad CFTS is dropping tbh. It's not one of my faves from her even after a few listens and contrary to popular opinion I've never considered it #1 material really.
Demi's pre-orders indicated a 'Glitterball' style performance up until the last couple of days where she stormed up to the high 50s. So without the unexpected (long term) successes for Justin and Labrinth, Demi would still be #5 (as she's climbed back up to #7 again now) and that's about what 'Glitterball' was managing I think.
Can't see Labrinth sticking around for long (hopefully), just one of those boost weeks then back out again swiftly like Say Something last year.

'Glitterball' reached #1 on iTunes and stayed there for most the week, did it not? It was only pipped to the top spot due to streaming.

Glitterball was actually #1 on iTunes for pretty much the entire week I think! It was certainly a sales #1 and I remember it hanging around very well on iTunes (it fell to #3 on sales in its second week also).

I think, as I said earlier, it's just a case of Demi being overestimated in comparison to Jess two weeks ago. I think Jess outperformed the expectations of most here and because of low sales, it did look like Demi might follow suit and grab a #1.

Oh was it really, I completely remember that wrong then!
I'm not as seasoned when it comes to where a song charts in correlation with its pre-orders but for whatever reason I was convinced that Demi would definitely at least challenge for the number one spot so it's been disappointing that really she won't even get close to it. I almost wish it had been released a little earlier too, it just doesn't feel right that a song called 'Cool For The Summer' won't even be officially charting in the Summertime.
