Posted September 2, 20159 yr The best band of all-time Suede have posted the artwork and a short clip of a new song on their website, teasing the release of their new album. They haven't confirmed the title yet, but on Twitter Mat Osman has used the hashtag #suede7, which could hint that the album's called "7" (or it could be a placeholder, given that it will be their 7th studio album). It's too short a clip to make any definitive judgements on it, but I'm getting "Introducing the Band" vibes from it, and I don't think it'll be reflective of what the album will sound like. But that hasn't stopped me getting any more excited.
September 7, 20159 yr Hot off the press... Suede's new album, Night Thoughts, will be released on January 22. They will be playing the album in full in two shows at the Roundhouse in mid-November. The album will be accompanied by a film which will be shown at the two shows. :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
September 7, 20159 yr Author Absolutely love the artwork for this one. I wonder when we'll hear the first full tracks from the album?
September 7, 20159 yr http://static.gigwise.com/artists/suedenighthtoughtscovernew_750.jpg That is beautiful! I actually rather liked Bloodsports, it was way better than I was expecting.
September 24, 20159 yr Author It's just what I wanted from a new Suede song. I thought it would end up being a slower one based on the album, but glad it's another rocky number.
January 20, 20169 yr 'Like Kids' is soooo good! Need to dig a bit deeper into their discography actually
January 20, 20169 yr I really want to like this so much but I just can't listen to their new stuff without wishing I was listening to their old stuff instead.
January 20, 20169 yr It has almost always been like that for me. Even Coming Up suffered from very ordinary lyrics where Dog Man Star's lyrics were (like the rest of the album) astonishing. As soon as Brett's lexicon gets silly I too wish I was listening to their old stuff.
January 20, 20169 yr Thanks to The Guardian, I have now heard Night Thoughts in full. They had an event this evening with a showing of the film followed by an interview with the director plus Brett and Mat. I can safely say that the album is fabulous (not that I'm at all biased). Sharing a lift with Brett and Mat afterwards (with a brief exchange of words with the man introduced as "to people of a certain demographic, the brother of him off Pointless") made my day :D
