 19. Ellie Goulding - On My Mind

Number 1 next Friday?

I don't know if I see On air #1s for Ellie. I don't know if she has that kind of fanbase, I can see it performing similarly to Body On Me, initially.

Don't think Ellie will be #1. She isn't rising THAT fast and she would need to push Justin down to atleast 75% to overcome the streaming difference
Why was it released on a Thursday? It makes no sense
Why on earth have they released Ellie's new single on Thursday? It's not hard to wait until midnight!
 41. Carly Rae Jepsen - Run Away With Me :cheer: nearly in the 40 !! Surely this time??!

It's been top 40 on iTunes before anyway. Peaked at #39 before. Albums out tomorrow so it should continue to rise.

I can't get around the fact that this was released on a Thursday?! All the initial rush of fan-sales wasted.

22 Drake Hotline Bling

This is shaping up to be a pretty big hit for Drake, I'm pleased.

Carly is on Alan Carr tomorrow. And Later with Jools Holland is back on BBC2, Disclosure are performing two tracks one with Sam Smith and the other with the Kwabs and I can't remember the rest of the line up for Jools show, apart from Squeeze, hardly anyone else I know from the line-up.

If that prevents Ellie's song simply getting #1 on name alone then I am all for it, even if it is a stupid thing to do.

Is that Jamie Lawson thing a pre-order or available? One of my friends in Australia has been banging on about that song to me for months.

Drag Me Down still Top 20 (#18) and waiting for weekend's effect!

Releasing OA/OS though just cuts the potential illegal downloading down even more - I don't think the label need to worry about its first week chart position. In any case, it's a great track - I hope it can do as well as all the other good OA/OS tracks we've had recently (The Weeknd/Calvin Harris/Justin Bieber).

Got to really like Hotline Bling after hearing it on R1 a lot.

Good to see it's top 20!

This is why I feel it's a massive moment that Stormzy will be charting. When artists like him, Krept & Konan, Lethal Bizzle, Skepta, Sneakbo etc chart, it feels like we're "gatecrashing" the chart and I love that!

Would love to see a chart that better reflects UK culture and Stormzy charting with a freestyle is one step on the way to that. :)

It was a top 5 hit in Ireland in 2011, then had a second wave of success in Australia & New Zealand this year thanks to an opening slot on Ed Sheeran's tour.

Jools Holland was on last night and Sam had to pull out due to some throat problem, Disclosure performed 'Jaded' and Kwabs performed his own song.
