Bieber's current manager, Scooter Braun, first discovered him through his YouTube videos in 2007. Braun, as noted, was impressed with the videos resulting in contacting Bieber's mother, Patricia Mallette, about wanting to work with his musical abilities. Moreover, him having convinced his mother, Braun arranged for Bieber to meet with singer-songwriter, Usher, in Atlanta, Georgia. As a result, Bieber was signed to RBMG, a record label based in Atlanta, then to Island Records -- part of Def Jam Records -- with a recording contract offered by a prominent record executive, L.A. Reid. He released his debut EP, My World, in November 2009. It has been certified platinum in the United States. He became the first artist to have seven songs from a debut record to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. Bieber released his first full-length studio album, My World 2.0, in March 2010. It debuted at or near number one in several countries and was certified platinum in the United States. It was preceded by the single, "Baby", which is also, as of July 2014, the YouTube video with the most dislikes, and the most views on a Vevo platform. He followed up the release of his debut album with his first headlining tour, the My World Tour, the remix album titled, My Worlds Acoustic, and Never Say Never – The Remixes, and the 3D biopic-concert film Justin Bieber: Never Say Never. Bieber released his second studio album, Under the Mistletoe, in November 2011 when it debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. Bieber released his third studio album, Believe, in June 2012. He has received numerous industry awards, including both Artist of the Year Awards at the 2010 American Music Awards, and the 2012 American Music Awards. He has been nominated for Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album at the 53rd Grammy Awards. With his growing national and international fan base, they have been dubbed "beliebers" who largely consist of early to mid-adolescent women. He has millions of "followers" on Twitter and other social media accounts. He has been listed three times by Forbes magazine as one of the top ten most powerful celebrities in the world in 2011, 2012, and 2013. - Wikipedia Chart history - Top 100 (Year peak title): 2010 11 One Time -1- 2010 71 Love Me -PS- 2010 62 One Less Lonely Girl -2- 2010 76 Favorite Girl -PS- 2010 03 Baby (Justin Bieber Feat. October 2, 201510 yr Well Sam Smith may have just taken the crown away from Sam Smith and John Legend for worst #1 this year. Utterly horrifying boring dull uneventful Bond theme. What Do You Mean is quite good but nothing great. Poor top 3 :(
October 2, 201510 yr Love both songs but happy Sam Smith is #1 as this week was of course his only chance. Possibly my favourite track of his now (other than La La La). What Do You Mean is a beaut
October 2, 201510 yr 'what do you mean?' was still comfortably outselling r. city at the end of last week, could bieber join the likes of frankie laine, guy mitchell and pharrell williams and have 3 stints at the top? :o
October 2, 201510 yr Looking at that list of Bond themes there's surprisingly few I actually like :o Sam would slot in the top 3 for me along with Wings & Duran Duran. Shirley Bassey & Madonna (I know) making up the top 5.

October 2, 201510 yr ffs totally undeserved success for sam smith/'writing's on the wall' :puke:  :puke:
October 2, 201510 yr Very disappointing number 1. It's not awful, but as a Bond theme, it's really weak and lacking anything particularly interesting and dramatic which has been present in all of them. Not at all worthy of being the first Bond theme being number 1 and will look very strange and it's just reflective of the artist singing it being very popular. I doubt it will be remembered well in future years. and ffs srsly how many more bloody achievements can this man get? I bet he wins an Oscar next :/ Grumble grumble, at least it won't be there next week. Edited October 2, 201510 yr by Chez Wombat
