Samuel Frederick "Sam" Smith (born 19 May 1992) is an English singer and songwriter. He rose to fame in October 2012 when he was featured on Disclosure's breakthrough single "Latch", which peaked at number eleven on the UK Singles Chart. His subsequent feature—on Naughty Boy's "La La La"—earned him his first number one single in May 2013.

Well Sam Smith may have just taken the crown away from Sam Smith and John Legend for worst #1 this year. Utterly horrifying boring dull uneventful Bond theme.

What Do You Mean is quite good but nothing great. Poor top 3 :(

Love both songs but happy Sam Smith is #1 as this week was of course his only chance. Possibly my favourite track of his now (other than La La La).

'what do you mean?' was still comfortably outselling r. city at the end of last week, could bieber join the likes of frankie laine, guy mitchell and pharrell williams and have 3 stints at the top? :o

Looking at that list of Bond themes there's surprisingly few I actually like :o Sam would slot in the top 3 for me along with Wings & Duran Duran. Shirley Bassey & Madonna (I know) making up the top 5.

I'm glad Writing's On The Wall is number one.

Biography

The Vamps are a British pop band formed in 2012. The band consists of Bradley William Simpson from Birmingham (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), James Daniel McVey from Bournemouth (vocals and guitar), Connor Samuel John Ball from Aberdeen (vocals and bass guitar), and Tristan Oliver Vance Evans from Exeter, (vocals and drums). They signed to Mercury Records in late 2012. The band started to grow a fan base by supporting pop punk band McFly in early 2013 on their Memory Lane Tour. They have also been performing at several festival style events around the UK as supporting acts for several different acts including The Wanted, JLS and Little Mix, Lawson . Very disappointing number 1. It's not awful, but as a Bond theme, it's really weak and lacking anything particularly interesting and dramatic which has been present in all of them. Not at all worthy of being the first Bond theme being number 1 and will look very strange and it's just reflective of the artist singing it being very popular. I doubt it will be remembered well in future years.

 

and ffs srsly how many more bloody achievements can this man get? I bet he wins an Oscar next :/
