November 23, 201510 yr Author cannot disagree more it is not hype it is selling cos people liked the last album and wanna buy the new one, you reap what you sow, that's it... same as what happened with Oasis back in the day Well technically that is what "hype" is. It's hype based on the last album (partnered with the hype generated via Hello). That's not saying she doesn't deserve it, it's been a very meticulously planned campaign and most people will probably love what they buy. Edited November 23, 201510 yr by Joe.
November 23, 201510 yr You cant say that though. If she had only 3 days sales for the first week it would probably be even higher sales, as people thinking I'll get it later in the week *might* be more inclined to get it in those first 3 days. Isn't that basically what happened with Oasis, the sales tailed off massively after those first 3 days, it was actually a clever tactic to shift huge numbers of the album. True. They only sold 100k over the following 4 days. I imagine Adele will more than double that and she should beat their full week figure. Edited November 23, 201510 yr by PaulM1983
November 23, 201510 yr for me buying the next album that an artist you like releases, that's not hype for me hype is when people buy something blindly without reference cos everybody else says it's good/they should

November 23, 201510 yr Author Anastasia is #35 FYI. I'm sure'll she climb from that position though. Edited November 23, 201510 yr by Joe.
November 23, 201510 yr Elvis really is holding up well! Wouldn't be surprised if he kept a hold of the #2 position. Absolutely killer Adele sales with still 4 days of sales left!
November 23, 201510 yr Wow. It appears as if she really is going to topple Oasis' title, so happy for her.
November 23, 201510 yr Would be great to see Bieber locked out the top 2! In the albums, think Elvis will pip Adele by the end of the week, she seems very frontloaded.
November 23, 201510 yr As much as I think she's overrated and what I've heard from the album sounds like the worse half of 21, you could say exactly the same thing about Be Here Now. Hype is hype, the better album will still sell more in the long run.
