Amazing sales for Adele. 313k first day and second/third day over 100k each? Looks likely she'll do 800k+ by the end of the week at this rate. :o Maybe even a small chance she'll do 1 million?

Enya #4 that is great, and it looks like she could end up in the top 5

I was pleasantly surprised too, especially seeing her about 7k ahead of 1D

That is completely subjective. She obviously does deserve to sell that amount as she is and people are parting with their hard earned money for her music, something that is almost an old fashioned thing these days for people to actually pay for music.

The album is fantastic, When we were young through to and including River Lea is probably the best 4 songs in a row I've ever heard on an album.

Yes, it's subjective but if you read some of the reviews by critics, it doesn't exactly get a glowing five star reference. Quite a few critics have said the album is pretty average and very similar to her last one. Just because it's selling well doesn't mean it deserves to do well though.

She sold 77.3k yesterday and 148k on Satuday.

Where abouts is Nathan Skyes? He is no4 on iTunes and doing much better than I expected.

Currently #6, 10% (1.8k) of his sales so far have come from physicals!

1 Adele - 25 (537.6k)

Looks like she may stop Ed Sheeran from doing a Simply Red

25 will be the first album to ever enter the Top 5 YTD in the 4th quarter.

Really?

I'm guessing he meant "enter" as in "debut" within the Top 5 YTD.

Oh right, that makes more sense - I was quite confused then!

Correct. Sorry I wasn't clearer.

Critics panned Spice Girls Spice and it still sold 30 million copies and is one of the best pop albums.

Why is 'similar to her last one' a criticism? You mean the last album that sold a zillion copies and is adored and contained some huge hits and songs.

Adele does what she does exceptionally well, why would she change that why would anyone want her to? Cant people just be happy that she makes great music, because it is great, from a great voice and feels very true to the person she is.

At that drop for 1D it's doing the same as their singles this era

It's doing just fine.

Your opinion about her making "good" music is subjective though. What exactly is good music? That can mean different things to different people. Yes she has a good voice but some of her stuff is incredibly boring and quite dull.

That's crazy, no way does she deserve to sell that amount. There were only 4 or 5 really good songs on her last album. It's just complete hype. There are other artists who are much better that don't sell anywhere near that amount.

Nearly every high entry OAOS release which initially peaks high in the chart but falls before a recovery with airplay charts on hype though.

I thought progress was released in Q4 but still managed to be the best selling album of that year? Hope Nathan Skyes can go top 5 and more artists should release a physical cd as it does make an impact on sales.

There wont be THAT MUCH change in the album top5/10 between now and xmas apart from Coldplay and possibly Buble entering and whoever gets the XF final slots/TV Specials on xmas week.

Looks like Elvis, Adele and Biber will be the big winners this 4th quarter - Elvis will be just behind Adele as biggest seller imo.

It didn't debut there though, which was what was meant (FYI, it debuted on the YTD list at #9 and climbed to #4 the following week).
