90. Fall Out Boy - Uma Thurman

Total points: 173

Chart run: 17-19-17-28-16-19-25-26-29

Having always been a casual fan of Fall Out Boy, one of the very few rock acts that can still achieve infrequent top 40 UK singles, I was sure there'd at least be a few tracks to my taste on their newest album, and so it proved. Whilst not too keen on Centuries nor the title track on the album, Uma Thurman stood out enough to make a noticeable dent on the top 40. Definitely a great singalong track and with a definitive FOB sound this had a reasonably steady run despite its modest peak, clocking up over half of its chart run in the top 20.

89. TC ft. Little Grace - Show Some Love

Total points: 175

Chart run: 6-4-6-13-19-23

Drum & Bass is seldom a surprise inclusion in my Charts and one of the best releases this year featured on UKF was this gem of a track from Bristolian DJ TC. Of course on top of a now very popular genre which its signature breakbeat sound you have to have an engaging vocal line which this track duly delivers! A really nice build up in the verses leads up to an explosive chorus where the vocals and production just complement each other perfectly. This song was showing extremely promising signs early on however declined it sharply, notching up just the month and a half in the chart.

88. Fifth Harmony ft. Kid Ink - Worth It

Total points: 178

Chart run: 26-19-39-X-29-16-16-12-16-24-35

Girlband tracks are always very hit and miss for me but this one managed to achieve a very positive reception! Pretty much dubbed the US Little Mix, Fifth Harmony's singles thus far have in my eyes had a bit more "oomph" about them with both this & BO$$. The main catch with Worth It however is just its sheer catchiness. With a trumpet section akin to Derulo's Talk Dirty and a confident delivery of rather conceited lyrics it amounted to a very punchy pop number. It had a very brief chart voyage before a full 3 months later it achieved a #12 peak on the back of its success this side of the pond.

87. The Avenue ft. Phoebe Killdeer - Fade Out Lines

Total points: 178

Chart run: 4-9-11-10-14-26-35

These kind of deep house songs really have to have something about them to properly stand out from the crowd. I can't even put my finger on it myself but there is something oddly endearing about this track. It could be the almost delicate production The Avener attempts to draw out but I really like the vocals in this as well. The song draws you in with the unusual delivery and leaves you wanting more come the end. This was a massive hit across most of Europe but flopped in the UK landing at #60. A very strong start in this chart could only total up to 7 weeks in all.

86. iLL BLU ft. James Morrison - Lonely People

Total points: 179

Chart run: 23-12-9-8-14-20-31-32

Ah yes, remember James Morrision? Once a pretty big deal but cast to the forgotten pile these days in the competitive male pop/soul scene. He was back on a track in 2015 but with something slightly different to his usual style. Featuring on a "dancey" single this time his delivers a very good vocal over a cool, summery instrumental and the results were quite a bit better than I was initially expecting. I was one of a few tipping this for surprise commercial success but that however did not materialise. He will have to make to do with a #8 peak and a place in my top 100 songs of 2015.

Hi Dobbo

Glad to see Worth It here, I can see why some people dislike it for being cheesy/annoying but for me it's the epitome of catchy, I love the trumpet section too whereas I hated it in Talk Dirty, I think it just works with the dance routine and things - love a good fierce girlband track and this was a great one.

Uma Thurman was pretty great, maybe my favourite track from the album. They did start pushing a few too many singles in the end and they all started blending into one another but this was definitely a stand out.

Great stuff so far!

:hi: Dobbo. Will be excited to keep track of this as I don't know much about your musical taste atm!

88. Fifth Harmony ft. Kid Ink - Worth It still love this!

91. Natalie La Rose ft. Fetty Wap - Around The World

93. Naughty Boy ft. Beyoncé & Arrow Benjamin - Runnin' (Lose It All) random collab but it works so well!

99. Justin Bieber - Sorry  he's been on fire this era and this is my favourite from it!

Will keep checking back B-)

Think I was the main poster tipping Lonely People for success! Although more for iLL Blu than James Morrison. Shame it never did anything, I do think it would have charted if released in 2014.

Omg Fall Out Boy, One of my fave songs of their album

Worth it is such a bob

Fade Out Lines and Ill Blue was okay but woudlnt listen to them on my own terms :(

Fade Out Lines and Lonely People were amongst the weakest notable house singles released this year for me, neither appeared in my chart oop. :(

At least it's not American Beauty/American Psycho :kink:

Coulda sworn you said you loved that! nah I wasn't that struck on that song but it does have a better vid

Well at least you chose the most tolerable song from the new FOB era.. can't say I'm a fan tho

It isn't their strongest era no but I'm still finding them pretty consistent and haven't completely gone off like some bands of their ilk...

Adore Worth It, such a great girlband jam after hating it at first

I would say Sledgehammer is my favourite of theirs, now that's pop perfection.

Yes I wasn't too big on it myself initially but I've find found loving all 3 of their big singles from that album. Talk Dirty is top notch Derulo though!

True, they had a fair few top 75s here but all very low peaking. I would have loved seeing Uma top 40 especially when it got that iconic "Chartbreaker" play

Glad you're enjoying the countdown so far.

Hiya Haus! This is a very good thread to follow for an overview :cheer:

Good 4 tracks you've picked out there. Sorry is my favourite of his so far too other than Where Are U Now, but Love Yourself could well push it close in the coming weeks!

Think I was the main poster tipping Lonely People for success! Although more for iLL Blu than James Morrison. Shame it never did anything, I do think it would have charted if released in 2014.

Yes I think you were! Quite right, definitely more suited to a year ago when practically anything of that sound was commercially viable.

Omg Fall Out Boy, One of my fave songs of their album

Worth it is such a bob

Fade Out Lines and Ill Blue was okay but woudlnt listen to them on my own terms :(

Won't be too many tracks like Uma Thurman in this rundown ;) really has to be a fantastic song in that particular genre to do well on my chart.

These ones lower down the countdown were generally ones I loved for short spells but may not revert back to at later times, some just don't have that come-back-to feeling

Fade Out Lines and Lonely People were amongst the weakest notable house singles released this year for me, neither appeared in my chart oop. :(

Lonely People is probably quite lucky to be here given I'm not all that big on it on reflection but still very much love Fade Out Lines. I'm surprised that wasn't a bit higher actually.

Hi Dobbo

Around The World is a tune, Natalie La Rose

Worth It is also amazing. Massive contender for my favourite song this year. :D

NOOOOOOOOOO at Outside missing the top 100 :snif: it was one amazing song this year!

100. Lost Frequencies (feat. Janieck Devy) - Reality soooo damn low :( I charted a lot of remixes of this this year! Should I ocmbine them all in mine not sure )

Sorry is very good! Don't love it as much as WAYN and WDYM. I Will For Love wasn't that great. Rudy hasn't done much at all for me since their first era :(

Ouch at that Afraid To Love chart run! :o at least it came top 5 though, it didn't reach my top 5 but it had a fairly long chart run :kink:

Runnin' is ok. Not a big Beyonce fan so maybe that's why. Around the World is good but not big on me. Neither artist is big on me tbh :P

Worth It was a grower for me. Not surprising because I'm a big fan of Talk Dirty and Problem and similar. Bo$$ is still much better though. Poor unfortunate floppy Bo$$ and Fade Out Lines :(

Not heard many of these and ill blu and FOB aren't good imo. Hopefully some Ella on the way

I wouldn't perhaps choose to listen to them now but I enjoyed them at the time. Ella actually doesn't appear many times in this but will feature high up for sure!

Yeah, wish it was that that performed better over Somebody.

I'd be interested to see your top tracks of 2015!

Yeah but it would have easily made it had I started even a week earlier posting Charts. It may have even been a #1!

I would say combine the remixes but if it's a different version (i.e. with vocals) then separately. For example Watermat appears twice on mine with All My Love & Frequency - essentially the same song at heart!

Afraid To Love just couldn't hold up like his usual style sadly :/

Fair enough, too early to tell whether La Rose will keep up the tunes or fade away.

At least B0$$ managed a sole week top 40 :kink: I even suggested Fade Out Lines could catch on Waves style - what a serious overestimation?!

Thanks 2 all

Right, let's try and get to #76 by tonight then!

85. 5 Seconds Of Summer - She's Kinda Hot

Total points: 180

Chart run: 15-16-18-21-18-26-28-27-31-30

Well this was a surprise! After being big fans of their previous hits She Look So Perfect & Don't Stop I was wondering if they could continue the run of form into the second era. At first I wasn't struck on this at all, and in fact it was only when it re-entered the official charts that it properly clicked. Another punchy track by the Aussie group reminding me of early blink-182 in parts. It didn't manage a top 10 peak but held up very well indeed (most unlike on the official chart) and only just dropped out this past week.

84. Watermät & TAI - Frequency

Total points: 180

Chart run: 15-7-9-26-21-31-23-31-38-35-X-35

The full follow up to monster track Bullit came in the form of Frequency. A very similar sounding song, not quite as amazing but a top tune even so. His sound is already so distinct in the competitive house scene right now and if he keeps producing tracks of this quality I'll soon be a megafan. He got TAI on board for this whose input is noticeable in the middle of the track, providing a nice side addition. On top of all that he brought out another video with Lucinda Nicholas in so the boxes kept getting ticked. The track would later go on to be reworked as a vocal with Becky Hill which was a #1 on my Chart so look out for that later down the line!
