January 1, 20169 yr Author Oh dear at that  Not sure it's worthy of this backlash but that was pretty shite oops. Silly hen.
January 1, 20169 yr Carrie, Foxes, James Bay, Wolffe, Mark Ronson/Bruno Mars, Madonna and Demi/Iggy  SLAY Conrad :D

Jeremih) - 20-9-13-21-26-33-X (6 weeks) Kicking off the top 100 we have oh oh oh oh oh Natalie La Rose with her debut hit Somebody. The song was first brought to my attention through Jay, when he entered it to BJSC, and it's remained a jam ever since then. Jeremih also manages to avoid being awful on the song with his shot shot shot shots, and overall it makes for a fun update of the Whitney classic. Another BJSC entry at #96, this time one of my own. Niykee Heaton's Instagram is......something any straights out there will enjoy, I'll put it that way. Cold War however is a classy, seductive song with luscious vocals and great production. The song almost became my third top 10 hit in BJSC, instead getting to #11. Despite winning the semi :'). JoJo made the first step towards her big comeback in 2015 with her tringle, and it was When Love Hurts that was pushed as the commercial single over the other songs Say Love and Save My Soul. All three songs were solid but most of my attention went towards the jam that is When Love Hurts, an uptempo pop track with a very catchy chorus. I'm extremely excited for her full comeback, although at the rate it's currently moving, her album will be due some time in 2025. Delivering perhaps the most underrated song of the year, Selena Gomez got loads of hate for Same Old Love when it premiered earlier this year. And there I was, jamming to it. It's not a clear hit single really but it's irresistibly catchy and great to sing along to. Charli XCX's backing vocals add the extra spark to it. It's far from the slick Good For You which is still to come but it's really not as bad as people make out. On the other hand, a song now that I find slightly overrated in the form of Run Away With Me. Carly's a great artist but I don't think this has a patch on some of the Kiss tracks for me. I don't want this to sound all negative though, it's obviously here because I like it :kink: It still managed a really good run in my chart for its peak, and Carly still has one song left in the countdown. I don't tend to include old songs in these countdowns unless there's a notable exception, and at #95 we find one of these exceptions. I liked Birdy's Wings upon its original release, but it wasn't until the Lloyds Bank advert gave it a new lease of life when I began to love it. It got itself a new peak in my chart and an extended chart run, similar to what happened in the official chart. However, the acoustic version doesn't really do it for me as much, it was the gorgeous original that I rediscovered  Poor Cheryl had two songs in my top four last year, but her only 2015 single Only Human fails to make it higher than #94. Which is still higher than it managed on release week in the UK actually (it has a peak of #70 though from the instant grat *.*). Only Human is a new side to Cheryl, I really like how delicate her vocals sound on it and the production is unlike any of her other singles. A lack of radio support, and a really shite drum and bass radio remix, led to the song flopping entirely :( Speaking of flops, Foxes is here again, with lead single Body Talk. The song felt average to me on first listen but I was drawn back for more listens and it grew on me really quickly, it's definitely my favourite song by her and its chart performance was criminal. If that won't smash for her, I'm not sure what will. Next to Foxes again is Carrie Underwood, this time with the second single from the Storyteller album. Heartbeat shows a refined side to Carrie, who normally utilises her powerhouse voice (and rightly so) to the max. The result is a gorgeous song, and I'm glad we got to experience it with an X Factor performance, introducing Carrie to a wider audience. Finally, our annual J-Lo and Pitbull collaboration is at #91. Back It Up was a single for Prince Royce, and is the only song of his I've heard actually. It's a huge summer jam, with J-Lo adding a hint of Spanish to the song, particularly the earworm of "damelo papi chulo" which was stuck in my head for days. Jordan described it well when we were chatting last night - the hit that forgot to smash :( PICK OF THE SECTION 9w9dXWU5nMI
January 1, 20169 yr they really put no effort into 'Only Human' lol, that drum n' bass radio mix was completely pointless as the song got barely any radio airplay :basil: and it wasn't too brilliant either. neither was the original but that was better 'Somebody' is a great start and I also like 'Run Away With Me' even if Buzzjack really overrate it.
January 1, 20169 yr 112 The Vamps - Volcano (feat. Silentó) ft. Silento? <_< The Vamps haven't really impressed me a lot this year which is a shame as their first few singles were great, especially Wild Heart  and Somebody to You :music: 115 Jess Glynne - Take Me Home great track even if it's not as dancy as her others, her vocals :o 116 LunchMoney Lewis - Bills - brilliant lyrics and video and catchy too, gad it's here 117 Calvin Harris & Disciples - How Deep Is Your Love - prefer Calvin's more "banging" production than this but vocals are nice 119 Charlie Puth - Marvin Gaye (feat. Meghan Trainor) - the lyrics are, well, not too sure  but the duet played out rather well 102 Foxes - Better Love it's good but she can do better than this 107 Mark Ronson - Uptown Funk (feat. Bruno Mars) :music: deserved all the success it got! 108 Madonna - Living For Love er it's a lot better than Bitch I'm Madonna  110 Demi Lovato - Kingdom Come (feat. Iggy Azalea) heard this on songpop, quite good 93 Foxes - Body Talk - :music: love production on this and vocals are v dreamy, more of this from Foxes please! 94 Cheryl - Only Human - not bad, not amazing either but could have done a tad higher in the chart 95 Birdy - Wings - never got the hype for this when everyone else seems to love it here :( 97 Carly Rae Jepsen - Run Away With Me - :music: Carly <3 98 Selena Gomez - Same Old Love - :music: she's been very good this year, got to check her older things out 100 Natalie La Rose - Somebody (feat. Jeremih) - good track but not that big on it like a lot of peeps are on here Conrad will always be the best on here with Firestone but he was great on Hold Me Up :cheer: and on that one with Arty. Could do with him getting another top 40 hit really.
January 1, 20169 yr Author Conrad deserves to have a #1, not another top 40 tbh :coffee: (but I'll take the latter) :heehee: Thanks Dan and Spadz *.*

The song is about a gold-digging girl who things about herself and not anyone else, and it attracted a bit of backlash (not that many people are here for Cody these days) due to the use of the acronym "THOT" mixed with "Thoughtful" in the title. "THOT" stands for "that hoe over there", so it's clear to see why some weren't happy with it. I don't think it was meant in a derogatory way and I say that as someone who's followed Cody for many years now :heehee: It's a really good song nonetheless and his highest peaking track this era, although one more song is still to come! #longhairdontcare vibes are STRONG in this section, with the aforementioned Cody (kinda), as well as Hozier, The Ready Set, Jakob Karlberg and James Bay. Hozier's first appearance of two comes from second charting hit Someone New, a much more uptempo song compared to Take Me To Church, which is still to come. The track removed the one-hit wonder status that many thought Hozier may be after TMTC, for which I'm delighted as he's got a lot of good material. I sent The Ready Set's Freakin' Me Out to BJSC in October, and it gave me my seventh qualifier of the year, a new personal record *.* The song is pop-rock, not always something that works for me but in this case it very much does. Continuing the theme, Jakob Karlberg was someone I sent to BJSC with his debut single Fan va bra, and that's still to come, with follow-up Fel på dig in this section. He's brought us two solid pop songs so far and I'm really excited for what's still to come from him. His doppelganger, James Bay (seriously, just change the hair colour ), is at #86 with fourth single If You Ever Want to Be in Love. Its peak before the cut-off point was #16 but it has since gone on to reach #10, his fifth top 10 hit in my chart. He still has two big hits to come. Elsewhere, a UK #1 pops up from Rachel Platten and her breakthrough hit Fight Song. I discovered her through Iz' EOY chart a few years ago now, so to see her smash last year was really nice. Fight Song became quite a big hit in my chart, having an excellent chart run for a #7 hit! Another UK hit in this section is Oliver Heldens' Last All Night. He got a top 15 hit with Becky Hill on Gecko (Overdrive) but managed to do better with second single in my chart, getting to #7 and being one of the most successful dance songs of the year for me. KStewart's vocals and an excellent breakdown help this particular song stand out from other generic "EDM" songs which are tiring on me, generally speaking. Unknown young male Jesper Jenset appears again with his first proper single Superhero, not a song that breaks the boundaries of pop music but it's a really nice little track and very catchy, so right up my street. Just two spots above is Hilary Duff with album track My Kind, a song that grabbed me on first listen of the album. Again, it's not particularly innovative, but that's not something I can say I really cared for in music anyway :kink: Finally, we close the section with the most generic song here, from Alexandra Stan & Inna. I've never really explored Inna's music, and I'm only particularly familiar with Mr Saxobeat for Alexandra and that I can take or leave, so it was a big surprise to me when I ended up loving We Wanna! It's one of the songs that defined my holiday in August. Daddy Yankee getting into my EOY top 90, where is Entea when you need him  PICK OF THE SECTION hhgTatr3dAw

January 1, 20169 yr I DIED at "Thotful" lol Yeah, The Ready Set has that effect on people. Check out his albums though, they're freaking AMAZING. I suggest "More Than Alive" from his second album :D
January 1, 20169 yr Author Cheers Harry and Cody :D Cody I listened to one of his albums and it wasn't that good oops, think it was his first one. I'll check that one out though!!
January 1, 20169 yr Cheers Harry and Cody :D Cody I listened to one of his albums and it wasn't that good oops, think it was his first one. I'll check that one out though!!I was talking about his second and third ones, he never really took off until the tail-end of 2010 so I guess that's understandable.
January 2, 20169 yr Same Old Love  Absolutely love the song now, it's not even a bad single choice as such given it's smashed in the US tbh, but I can see that it wasn't the best option! It's so slick, sassy and catchy, firmly in my top 3 of Revival now which says a LOT <3
January 2, 20169 yr Finally, our annual J-Lo and Pitbull collaboration is at #91. Back It Up was a single for Prince Royce, and is the only song of his I've heard actually. It's a huge summer jam, with J-Lo adding a hint of Spanish to the song, particularly the earworm of "damelo papi chulo" which was stuck in my head for days. Jordan described it well when we were chatting last night - the hit that forgot to smash :(Omg my actual impact. We could say the same about Only Human too :( I'm also very glad Hozier has a second hit to his name, Someone New was definitely the right choice to follow TMTC. Oh look, Superherp *_
January 2, 20169 yr Agree over Same Old Love. It's a really good pop song and doesn't deserve some of the hate it gets.
January 2, 20169 yr We Wanna was extremely cheap sounding but I love both artists enough to overlook that, amazing video all the same! Koala was not a patch on Gecko however I began to enjoy it more later in the year, he's a very talented producer. Someone New was an amazing surprise IMO, should have had more success.
January 2, 20169 yr A TOP 250   wow i could never. but so far this a great bunch of tracks... koala
January 2, 20169 yr Back It Up appearing in a few EOY <3 yaaay. I'll gloss over the fact that My Kind is here, the worst on the album -_-
January 2, 20169 yr Hello Joseph Glad to see IYEWTBIL here, he left it way too late to finally release it so big shame it won't be a hit but at least more people got to hear it. For me it's like a catchier and overall better Hold Back the River. Someone New is now Hozier's best I think, I like his other tracks but you can't help but bop to this, really catchy and I think I like it more for that!
