October 31, 20168 yr Imola was always a highlight of the calendar, and even despite those horrible memories associated with Ratzenberger and Senna and the lucky near misses for Piquet and Berger still in the mind, I'd move mountains (or walls) to get it back if I were Bernie Ecclestone.
November 1, 20168 yr If the Red Bull Ring can return to the calendar then surely Imola, Zandvoort and even Kyalami. The last two races at Imola especially 2005 were classics. Where would you like see F1 have a race at?
November 1, 20168 yr Author I think Imola was angling to steal the Italian GP from Monza. Shame it didn't come to anything. I'd like to see a French Grand Prix back. There's been so much attention on races outside of Europe these days that people forget that so many of the new races across the Middle East and Asia are awful circuits that produce dull racing. You need more circuits like Imola and COTA and São Paulo. My next target is to go to the Belgian Grand Prix
November 1, 20168 yr Always preferred Imola to Monza myself as well, much more interesting Circuit. Magny-Cours was usually a good race, as was Istanbul too, one of the better Tilke tracks - shame that brought in zero crowds.
November 1, 20168 yr Author Omg turn 8 at Turkey was just the best. Easily Tilke's finest work. I complete agree with you there. Sepang is one of his as well isn't it? That's a cracker of a track
November 1, 20168 yr In a perfect world were safety was a given I'd like to see the return of The Nurburgring - Nordschleife Spa francorchamps - The triangle but also keep the current layout. Brands Hatch Imola - in it's original format Paul Ricard Kyalami Adelaide Watkins Glen Zandvoort Ostereichring - original version And return Silverstone, Hockenheim and Monza to the old layouts. I'd kind of like to see the Indy 500 put back on the F1 calendar too but I know that's impossible now. Spa remains my favourite circuit and I hope top go back one day soon
November 1, 20168 yr Istanbul was one of the best modern circuits that Tilke designed. Turn 8 is a very missed part of F1. Korea & India were very poor circuits it didn't work out.
November 5, 20168 yr Author Yup. Interesting move. Some say he's highly rated and then others point to the fact that daddy is loaded Haas are publicly admitting their behind on their new car
November 9, 20168 yr Author Palmer staying at Renault :manson: KMag moving to Haas on multiyear deal after turning down a single year deal from Renault. :( Looks like we're trying to go after Sainz for 2018
November 9, 20168 yr Amazed at Palmer staying at Renault next season. I can see Ocon moving to Force India, Wehrlein staying at Manor.
November 9, 20168 yr Author It has to be because he's the only person that would accept a single year deal. This is what I'm telling myself. I'm glad KMag is staying in F1 but I'm a little heartbroken that it's not with Renault. We had the makings of a phenomenal pairing there.
November 9, 20168 yr Really glad Palmer will be on the grid next year at least that's 2 Brits still racing at the top level. Definitely must show some improvements but I'm glad he's getting another full year too many drivers these days get dropped far too quickly (looking at you STR).
November 10, 20168 yr As I expected, Ocon will drive for Force India next year alongside Sergio Perez.
November 13, 20168 yr Author The f***ing FIA and Bernie are destroying this sport. Safety car start for Brazil because it's a little damp. A decade ago we'd have been full on racing. Gravel traps and proper wet races are needed badly. We also should see the return of the third car (all the bits are at tracks anyway so does it really actually save any money??) This is just a joke. Souless tracks with miles of run offs and the second it starts spitting proper racing is immediately stopped.
November 13, 20168 yr I generally fully agree with you there but it is crazy wet there. Tried to restart it then kimi goes and throws it in the wall on full wets! Mind you he's never been known for his wet weather heroics
November 13, 20168 yr Author I love wet races for incidents like this tho. And usually the first corner is so much carnage it's outstanding. Like in 2004 when Jag ended their F1 attempt with a double first corner retirement. The first lap at Brazil is always amazing
November 13, 20168 yr Oh yes that was hilarious! On the flip side poor DC lost out on his last ever race in 08 I think it was? The spray on the start finish straight is pretty scary today ocon nearly t-boned kimi there. Just hope this finishes within the 4 hour window and we avoid bloody half points!
November 13, 20168 yr Author 53 is the magic number. Half points works for me as it's better for the Rosberg championship. ^_^
November 13, 20168 yr Author ANOTHER Red Flag. I'm with the Brazilians and for once agree with dickface. The track is fine.
