Dirty and at times dangerous tactics from Hamilton slowing the pack down. Glad he was foiled.

A well deserved title from Rosberg. He fully deserves it. Kept cool under pressure. The 2nd father-son to win a world title after Keke back in 1982.

The amount of times Hamilton was mentioned today on Channel 4.

Shame that Button had to retire in his last race.

Great that Massa finished in the points in his last race

As much as I dislike Hamilton as an individual I can't be too critical of his tactics yesterday.

He wants to be WDC as much as any driver does and he had only one possible option that wasn't rule breaking. Sure he could have driven off into the distance and won by 30 seconds or more but it wouldn't have given him the 4th title he craves. He might have proven he was the better driver than Rosberg but I don't think that's really in doubt.

He had only one card to play and no-one should be surprised he used it. The tactic in itself isn't dangerous and I remember Mansell/Patrese and Senna/Berger doing the same to the others all the time in the early 90s. And as we all know both Senna and Schumacher have gone too far to guarantee a title. Hamilton was unsporting maybe, but not unfair.

I can understand Mercedes not wanting to lose a 1-2 finish and I don't blame them for that but I think they should've allowed their drivers to decide the title without interference given the Contructors title was settled.

I'm glad Rosberg won in the end but at least Hamilton made the final race interesting.

Roll on next year

The French Grand Prix looks set to return after 8 years according to reports to host the race at Le Castellet or possibly Paul Ricard. That could take over the German Grand Prix slot.

There will be no German Grand Prix next year at all.

He's probably the right decision for him. He's retired at his peak. It'll be interesting if he returned to F1 possibly in 2018 or 2019 but I doubt he will. First world champion to retire when they won the title since Prost in 1993.

This does add an extra twist in the driver's market.

Not sure if Wehrlein would get the seat.

I think there will be a couple of changes that we might not expect.

I'd like to see Alonso at Mercedes. It would be worth it just to see Hamilton sulk

It could happen with Alonso moving to Mercedes providing they agree a fee with McLaren for him.

Other rumoured drivers in Vettel, Bottas, Wehrlein and Alonso. We shall see.

Officially confirmed to return to Paul Ricard.

Fab to have France back, looks like Eric Boullier and Renault were both heavily involved from the F1 side (wouldn't be surprised if this was part of the deal that Renault did for it's return)

However Paul Ricard is probably the dullest circuit in the entire world.

Paul Ricard used to be amazing. Then Elio De Angelis happened and it didn't last long and wasn't the same without that straight. It tended to give better races than Magny Cours.

Of course Le Castellet is the same as Paul Ricard!

Magny-Cours races of 1999, 2000 and 2004 were good in their own way.

Could be Fernando Alonso joining Mercedes possibly as Wolff has said that he might be their main target.

Alonso at Merc would be awesome. I can't stand Merc as a team but Alonso is a quality AF driver and would be so much more resilient to Hamilton's antics than Rosberg. It'd be quality to watch for Hamilton's crying fits when he gets thrashed by a talented driver, coz lets be honest a f***ing rookie could put that car on the podium these past three years.

Alonso is overdue a 3rd WC.

They've confirmed today that the straight is indeed a goner with the chicane being used in the F1 layout. :(

I actually quite like the Hungaroring. For some reason I can't explain it's always been one of my favourite tracks.

That's real shame as the track was always really hard on engines and brakes because of it. Without the straight it does make you wonder what the drivers will think of the track.

Still, it's good to have France back.

Now if someone could just have a word about Germany
