If it stays like this, much needed points for Sauber and Manor there with Nasr in 7th and Ocon & Wehrlein in 9th + 10th. The track is less wet compared to Korea in 2010.

FIA are refusing to restart at the moment. The countdown for 4 hours is on. It's exceptionally unlikely to be a full points race.

f*** the FIA.

Bianchi is just being used as a tool for hyper safety. Wrong lessons are being learned here. Japan should have had a Safety car instead of double yellows. That Crane shouldn't have been on the track without a Safety Car and we can't forget to overlook that like it or not, and I really don't like it, but Jules was travelling too fast in that section of the circuit according to telemetry.

Well when it finally got going that was a bloody good race! This is reason we simply cannot lose Interlagos, you don't get that level of drama on any other circuit, no matter how badly the FIA & Charlie Whiting try to intervene!

Such a shame Red Bull threw the inters on at just the wrong time, really think Max would have finished 2nd & possibly even won if he'd stuck to the same strat at the Mercs, oh well hindsight & all. At least we got see just how sensational he is, those last 15 or so laps my word, he was picking them off one by one, a special talent.

As for the title well... it's over for me. This was the race Rosberg had to screw up in to open it up but wasn't to be. Abu Dhabi is such a dull, crap racing track I don't see anything other than a boring 1-2 for Merc, obviously zero chance of rain to spice things up too. It's just such a shame they weren't closer on points & it would be a winner takes all affair, now that I could fully get behind regardless of who came out on top, as it is Nico will just drive a safe, boring race to 2nd no doubt. Roll on next year - can we PLEASE have more than 1 constructor in the title race!!!

Exceptional driving by Max to turn this into an exciting finale.

Some good accidents and crashes. Heartbroken for Massa but a lovely gesture of respect on his way back to Williams.

I'm looking forward to Red Bull finally dethroning the dull as f*** Merc next year. Rumour has it the 2017 Renault engine is at least a big as step as the 2016 one if not significantly more. That should put Torro Rosso into a very good place to finally make the most of their chassis which looks epic.

Merc could be at risk of falling to third next year.

I'm just gonna throw this out there but Verstappen's driving today was reminiscent of Senna in his prime.
Absolutely, shades of Donington '93!

I've always said that Senna's first lap at Donnington '93 was his greatest moment of many, and today gave me similar vibes.

I now consider myself impressed

Was a fantastic race, definitely amongst the best if not the best this year. I actually agreed with all of the Race Control stoppage decisions, except one, as it did feel like they didn't leave safety cars out unnecessarily long as they have done in previous wet races. The only strange decision was red flag #2 I think it was which I think everyone agreed seemed to be an odd decision, but aside from that I think it was the best Race Control have done for a long time.

Glad Force India had yet another strong result, I think Hulkenberg would've finally had his first podium if it wasn't for that puncture that dropped him down after the restart after red flag #1. But 27 point lead over Williams should mean they have all but secured a record-breaking 4th place finish!

Nasr and Ocon both impressed and Verstappen did of course too.

Verstappen's drive from 16th to 3rd was one of the best drives I've seen in my life, up there with Senna in Donington '93.

Malaysian Grand Prix could be dropped after 2018 due to poor ticket sales.

It was announced today that it will be dropped after 2018.

Shame really.

Yeah definitely, usually provided one of the most exciting races each season (and who could forget Multi-21?!)

Aww man :( I really like Sepang. It's a fab circuit that usually provides a few decent overtakes

The best opportunity this weekend that Rosberg may have to win a world title.

Button will retire after this race.

Abu Dhabi is such a pish track for a finale. It's so dull.

Rosberg had better end up WC this weekend. Can't take another title for dickbag. Honestly tho this is the 3rd title in a row that the engine rather than actual talent has decided the title.

If talent alone decided the title then Alonso would've been champion for the last 10 years

Might've gotten a tad dull after a while. I think as a teenager I was spoiled by having Piquet, Prost, Lauda, Senna, Mansell all fighting it out. Even the 2nd tier were drivers like De Angelis, Berger or Alesi. Before that there was Villeneuve, Pironi, Peterson and Hunt.

Then Schumacher turned up and with Senna gone had no genuine rival except Hakkinen. Once Ferrari got it together things got far too predictable.

Aside from the period 05-09 it's gotten dull again.

Given that the best driver hasn't won the title for the last 10 years and the best car has always dominated it's clear the sport needs a shake up to bring the teams closer in quality.

I am so pleased that after all of the dirty tricks and the cheating that Rosberg still won out in the end.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if Hamilton got the boot for disobeying the team to such an extent
