November 16, 20159 yr "When we were you" sounds great, but I hope she doesn't completely go down the Céline Dion route on this album. I want more surprising songs like "Rolling in the deep" and stuff from "19". She's truly AMAZING at ballads and she's also way to creative to only make ballads.

Hi, hasn't Adele done her most contemporary sounding pop song ever on this album with send my love? You doubt her too much.

November 16, 20159 yr Where did you read about this? In nearly every interview she's done. It's being likened to 'can't feel my face' by The Weeknd. Edited November 16, 20159 yr by MishaB
November 17, 20159 yr Adore When We Were Young, the sentiment of it really resonates with me.
November 17, 20159 yr Adore When We Were Young, the sentiment of it really resonates with me. The sentiment is beautiful absolutely but think that is Adele all over, music to tug on the heartstrings   I think (massive emphasis on think) the song is about her Grandad - might be wrong! My favourite lyric though would probably be the "it was just like a movie, it was just like a song". So simple but so stunning
November 17, 20159 yr Oh my theory was wrong  http://pitchfork.com/news/62141-adele-debu...obias-jesso-jr/
November 17, 20159 yr Yeah it is lovely but I am kind of surprised by the sound of it as it was described as a "disco ballad" in the earlier album reviews. Makes me think that the production may be rather different to the way it is on that performance. As much as I think the performance is beautiful, I would quite like to hear what on earth an Adele "disco ballad" actually sounds likes . It definitely has nothing on 'Hello' either.

November 17, 20159 yr Looking forward to listening to When We Were Young a bit later! Watching the hello video now, so stunning
November 17, 20159 yr Author WWWY is beautiful, to me it is quite 70s but in a different way,you could imagine Carole King writing it in the 70s. I do remember that review though too actually! I was quite excited for that but I'm pleased with it anyway, perhaps the live performance was stripped back....
November 17, 20159 yr My local music shop Head has already had copies of 25 delivered (though obviously not out on sale yet). Point is, it's surely only a matter of time before somebody leaks it... (not necessarily from there of course but another retailer who's got early copies ) Edited November 17, 20159 yr by gooddelta
November 17, 20159 yr I don't think they needed to release the full song of When We Were Young before the album release, it was unnecessary. In fact, I think the lyric is kind of off-putting to the younger generation. Nevertheless, it's a beautiful song and in instant classic that I'm sure will be played in weddings and funerals for years to come.
November 17, 20159 yr The video has created a lot of hype about another song, right before the album's release... it's a good move! She didn't need to put it out but I'm glad she did because it's actually increased my excitement for 25. Maybe the sentiment of the song will be alien to some, but a lot of themes aren't completely universal. Adele doesn't need to be cautious about what she writes about just in case her lyrics are off-putting to youngsters, because that's not a target market for her that she has to rely on... her market is pretty much everyone. Anyone around her age or older will completely understand the feeling of time marching on / reminiscing about times/people that are becoming distant memories. I appreciate that she's explored this theme in her lyrics.
