One listen so I'm sure things will grow anyway but yeah, it's alright I guess. I think the terrible reviews are a bit hyperbolic but it's definitely her worst album yet for me. Nothing is really bad on it and it's all rather nice but nothing is jumping out at me and it's a little on the boring side to be honest. The only track I remember and really enjoyed was Pendulum, the choir really worked but 1 instant track out of 12 new ones isn't a great tally...

Am I alone in thinking this album is amazing?

yeah I've tried a couple of times, I think it's awful.

To me Katy Perry is an artist that produces fun catchy pop bops, this album has none and her voice isn't good enough to pull off some of these tracks in my opinion.

Really though?

I've only heard the snippets briefly on Spotify and nothing has come close to topping my love for Swish Swish.
OK, maybe more like Xtina. This could be her Bionic.

It's even got a similar cover in some ways...

It's not looking great for her but I definitely don't think she's in Xtina territory quite yet!

This could easily just be a blip.

This is definitely her Britney Jean. Except BJ had Work Bitch.

Wow I'm a bit shocked at the response! I'm not a massive Katy fan infact I've always found her to be very overrated and samey, but out of curiosity I listened to the whole album and is actually a solid album for me. Love that she's tried something different and experimented with her sound. The title track is very very good and in my opinion the singles are among the weaker tracks on the album. Can't see it being a huge seller but it's kinda good by her standards for me anyways.

hey hey is SO awful what the f***

WORST song on the album. Why is it so high on the track list.

Radio 1 have played Swish Swish, Pendulum, Tsunami and Witness today already. Pendulum sounded great! It sounds kind of a natural progress from Chained.

Well, that's all that matters really.

As f***ing if Sia wrote Hey Hey Hey, it sounds like a 10 year old wrote it
Ha me neither, it's one of my favourites. Also the one with the most hit potential surely?

Just listened through and have ooone question:

WHERE IS THE CHORUS?!

Sat here waiting for the chorus like :lame: :mario: :coffee:

Whole thing sounds like those beige indie pop filler songs we sometimes get in BJSC.

Hey Hey Hey, Witness and another one I forget the title of have the most chance as a single. The rest is just !!!!

I don't think I've ever felt so disappointed with an album :( This felt like such a chore to listen to, I've never been so glad to hear Chained To The Rhythm after slogging through the tracks before it  The three we heard before release are by far the best, the only ones I will take aside from them are Pendulum and perhaps Roulette/Witness. Hey Hey Hey isn't even the worst for me, it sounds childish and annoying but at least I can remember how it goes and it stands out a bit. So many of these blend into one for me.

I like that she tried to do something different and take a risk but it hasn't paid off for me :/
