Yes get that Friday promo Kylie - will give the album a very decent boost too especially if they leave the price at £6.99.

Golden is number 37 in the midweeek information released today.

Touch and go if it will stay top 40, but it wont experience much a fall this week if it misses out.

Lower than I was wanting it to be if the album is to stay Top 40 for Friday but, even if it does just miss out, it's still in a good position to start moving up again when Radio 2 play for 'Golden' starts next week.
I know itunes album sales are low but an indicator that interest has picked up for the album.

I will accept a one place climb so Golden can return to the Top 40.

I would also welcome the album obtaining a climb in position in its initial chart life.

It has been a long time since her albums have climbed in the chart on their initial chart run.

I know it has happened on album re-entries to the chart.

Regardless of where’s it ends up this week (I think it will be 39 or 40) I think it will be back in the Top 20 over the coming weeks due to Chris Evans promo tomorrow, possibly headlining the R2 show in Hyde Park, Exposure for the Golden single etc.,

It would be wonderful if the promotion coming will help the album back into the top 20 region of the chart.

If the album can obtain 2-3 weeks of increases it will bring Golden over 100,000 which is likely a target they have had for the album.

Kylie's appearance on Radio 2 starts from about 2:04:00: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0b5xj75

She performed 'All the Lovers', 'Dancing', 'Stop Me From Falling' and 'Islands in the Stream'. No 'Golden'. :(

The album is up to #21 on iTunes!

Also noticed iHeartRadio have uploaded a couple of Kylie clips. They're from a few weeks back (notice they ask about her plans for her birthday):

'Timebomb' being her most viewed lul wut???

Excellent song choice selection and wonderful the result for the album that should help it have a stable position for the coming week.

Music Week:

In April, Golden, Kylie Minogue’s new album with BMG, became her first No. 1 in eight years. With opening week sales of 48,000, according to the Official Charts Company, it was hailed as “a real statement” by Alistair Norbury, president, repertoire & marketing, BMG UK. Golden has sold 93,067 copies to date.

That seems to include its sales for today, of which I make about 2.3k-2.4k, so likely enough to have remained Top 40.

01 48,032 (11 copies pre-release)

04 13,319

06 8,819

10 5,697

13 4,415

13 3,634

31 2,343

38 2,300 (est.)

41 2,000 (est.)

It would also indicate it has stayed top 40 or they would likely not have mentioned an album outside the top 40 that has dropped down the chart.

It's from an article about Kylie headlining the Radio 2 gig, not the usual chart analysis, so not necessarily, although I do think it's clear the album has indeed made the Top 40.

Great that it has returned to the Top and has registered a climb on its original chart life.

The bleep of missing the top 40 is annoying as it breaks its consecutive run in the top 40.
