January 17, 20169 yr Revenant £5.5m in UK!!! :o Also edited US into title as I am going to try and keep a track of posting the American box office on here :)
January 17, 20169 yr Author Assuming that's toppled Star Wars then (considering it was 'only' on £6m this week), 'only' 4 weeks for Star Wars; colour me shocked. :o I'll post this week's UK chart when it's up on bfi!
January 19, 20169 yr Shocked at Ride Along 2 opening about $6million behind the last in the US, thought their profiles had raised quite a bit since the last film. Especially due to 22 Jump Street but also Get Hard and The Wedding Ringer etc.

January 20, 20169 yr Fantastic opening for Room considering it opened in under 200 theatres! (Still surprised it was that little!) Ugh at Ride Along 2 doing so well in America :(
January 20, 20169 yr I think Room is expanding now in the UK at least because my local cinema are getting it on Friday which is good to see, hoping it maintains its hype right up to Oscars day.

January 27, 20169 yr Wow at Dark Places! :o :( Such a shame for a fairly decent film. Expected The 5th Wave to do a little bit better than that as well.
January 27, 20169 yr From what I've read elsewhere, one cinema in Manchester was all that seemingly showed Dark Places  Such a contrast between this and Gone Girl. Ah well, now it's had some kind of UK release I should finally get around to watching it online, no longer holding out hope of being able to see it in a cinema. Nice to see Room remaining stable with the expanded release.
January 27, 20169 yr Yeah I saw it at AMC in Manchester. Like I said in another thread, it could have been promoted so much better given that it came off the back of Gone Girl and its cast. One of the most baffling releases I have ever seen actually.

(-) | 2016 Oscar Nominated Short Movies | $505,000 * Ok for Kung Fu Panda 3, nothing amazing but it's not a disaster of an opening. If it has good legs I think it can be seen as a solid success. * The Finest Hours opened between expectations which is terrible. $10M on a $70-$80M budget is awful * Fifty Shades Of Black completely bombs and hopefully that's an end to the awful spoof movies * Fantastic holds for everything after the snow last week affected box office. Nothing in the top 10 fell over -34%! The Boy especially did great by falling only -26% for a horror movie on 2nd weekend, one of the best holds for a 2nd weekend horror in years! * Norm Of The North completely plumetted * Jane Got A Gun did dreadful after finally being released after multiple production problems * Short Movies thing did pretty well!
February 3, 20169 yr Am I going blind or are there no Weekend reports for 'Star Wars'? It's not in any of the UK charts featured on IMDb or Box Office Mojo...
February 3, 20169 yr Odd that it's not on them (and thus everything below is moved up a place). It did £1.34m to chart third.
