March 13, 201610 yr If I remember correctly, this week in 1986 David Bowie's final top 5 hit Absolute Beginners entered the chart. Anyway, Orson for number one!
March 13, 201610 yr #16 Third new entry in a row, by a Grammy award winner band. With this song they climbed the following week into the top 3 and peaked at #3. Let's pump to it!

Originally an alternative hip hop group, they subsequently added R&B and EDM influences. Although the group was founded in Los Angeles in 1995, it was not until the release of their third album Elephunk in 2003 that they achieved high record sales. Since that time, the group has sold an estimated 76 million records (35 million albums and 41 million singles), making them one of the world's best-selling groups of all time. According to Nielsen SoundScan, the Black Eyed Peas were the second-best-selling artist/group of all time for downloaded tracks, with over 42 million sales as of the end of 2011. Their first major hit was the 2003 single "Where Is the Love?" from Elephunk, which topped the charts in 13 countries, including the United Kingdom, where it spent seven weeks at number one and went on to become Britain's biggest selling single of 2003. Another European hit single from the album was "Shut Up". Their fourth album, Monkey Business, was an even bigger worldwide success, certified 4× Platinum in the U.S., and spawning four singles, "Don't Phunk with My Heart", "Don't Lie", "My Humps" and "Pump It". In 2009, the group became one of only 11 artists to have simultaneously held the No. 1 and No. 2 spots on the Billboard Hot 100, with their singles "Boom Boom Pow" and "I Gotta Feeling", which topped the chart for an unprecedented 26 consecutive weeks. This album The E.N.D later produced a third Hot 100 number-one placement with "Imma Be", making the group one of few to ever place three number one singles on the chart from the same album, before being followed with "Rock That Body" and "Meet Me Halfway", which peaked in the Top 10 of the Hot 100. "I Gotta Feeling" became the first single to sell more than one million downloads in the United Kingdom. The Black Eyed Peas were ranked 12th on Billboard's Decade-End Chart Artist of the Decade, and 7th in the Hot 100 Artists of the Decade. At the 52nd Grammy Awards ceremony, held in January 2010, they won three awards out of six nominations. In November 2010, they released the album The Beginning. In February 2011, the group performed at the Super Bowl XLV halftime show. The album's first two singles, "The Time (Dirty Bit)" and "Just Can't Get Enough", became international hits and topped the charts in many countries. The single "Don't Stop the Party" became an international hit as well. - Wikipedia Chart history - Top 100 (Year peak title): 1998 53 Joints And Jams -1- 2001 31 Request Line (The Black Eyed Peas Feat. March 13, 201610 yr love this BEP song, one of their best from their early stuff. Infact their whole singles discog on the whole is amazing.
March 13, 201610 yr It's no "Where Is The Love?" but it's miles better than the dreadful "My Humps" at least
March 13, 201610 yr I definitely haven't listened to 'Like You' since 10 years ago and I'm surprised how much I like it today. 'Pump It' is INCREDIBLE *.* BEPs at their absolute best, their earlier songs have aged extremely well.
March 13, 201610 yr Oh this was certainly everywhere. Never been one I've listened to much myself but it's a pretty cool song for the right mood.
March 13, 201610 yr #15 A track initially from 1986, remixed at the start of the 90s and since then it keeps on coming back… You got the Love?

Stephens, Arnecia Michelle Harris and John Bellamy, who wrote the 1986 single release "You Got the Love", which featured Candi Staton on vocals. This was released on Source Records. In 1989, DJ Eren, a club DJ in London, UK, put Candi Staton's vocals over an early House track by Jamie Principle called "Your Love", which became a club hit. This version was also released in 1989 by British producer/DJ John Truelove as The Source, on a vinyl bootleg EP known as "Love/Rock". John Truelove then adopted the name The Source for himself and continued releasing records using the name. The mash-up of You Got The Love, credited to The Source featuring Candi Staton charted in 1991 in an official release, reaching number 4 in the UK Singles Chart. In 1997 it was remixed and released again by Truelove, this time under the alias Now Voyager, reaching one spot higher at number 3. Truelove signed with XL Recordings in 1997 and released a 12-inch EP called Clouds, featuring four different mixes of the Chaka Kahn song "Clouds" sung by Kahn's sister, Yvonne Stevens, aka Taka Boom. In 2006, "You Got the Love" was remixed and re-released yet again, reaching number 7. In 2009, Florence & The Machine released a version entitled "You've Got The Love" from the album "Lungs". Now Voyager began as a band started by Truelove in 1996. He recruited Louise De Fraine (vocals), Chris Harvey (guitar) and Larry Lush (programming, keyboards). Despite writing and showcasing an album of material, the band failed to secure a significant record deal. Now Voyager remains a side project for John Truelove. - Wikipedia Chart history - Top 100 (Year peak title): The Source 1991 04 You Got The Love (The Source Feat.
