I'm just sad we won't be having Peggy back for more than a week before her death! It would've been nice to see her around for a few weeks before her death episode. Based on Friday, I think Monday and Tuesday should be fantastic!

Yeah I agree, a character leaving like Peggy deserves more than a week before her last episode but I think this has been such a strong week of episodes and the writing/acting from all the Mitchell characters has been incredible especially Steve and Barbara!

I just know Monday and Tuesday are going to be unmissable episodes!

I think Peggy's back for just the right amount of time. We won't be willing her to go, but will be left wanting more.

I was at first underwhelmed that Peggy would only be back for 5 full episodes given it was suggested, if not basically stated, she'd be back for several weeks but, after actually watching the episodes so far, I'd say it was a good decision. The pacing has been excellent, it's meant Barbara hasn't needed to learn quite so many lines and, as someone mentioned on DS, it means we don't have to watch a once strong character get weaker and more of a shadow of their former self, potentially spoiling our memory of the character.

As Toby says, it's a case of less is more and leaves you wanting more rather than getting bored and wishing she'd just pop her clogs already.

I really feel like Belinda is going to be an EE legend if Carli sticks around. I haven't seen such an overwhelmingly positive response to a character like this in years.
Just re-watched Friday's episode again and it was just perfect. Peggy and Phil's scenes were so convincing; a genuine love between them and you just know they'd do anything for each other. The part where Phil says "It's here for you mum, and it always will be, anytime you want it" nearly had me in tears and just made me think about me and my mum. Then there were the Sharon/Shirley/Kathy scenes which provided light relief but were in keeping with the tone and of course their sort of friendship is great to watch; a really wise decision from Dominic to bring them together in a believable way.

I feel like Sharon and Shirley could be the future Pat & Peggy with Kathy as the new Pauline.

Also, did anyone else laugh at Claudette shitting herself when she saw Peggy in the market

I want a proper Peggy/Claudette scene but I'm not sure I want a character with no onscreen history with Peggy taking up so much of her final episode. Gives me Derek at Pat's deathbed teas.

That's my feelings on the matter too. If it was going to happen, it should have been today, although tbh I feel like Peggy's evils and Claudette running away shitless was effective enough.

Did anyone see Sharons f*** up on Friday?

By any chance when she reminisced about Peggy and how she said "if you so much as wag another polished finger in my direction..." after telling her to get out of her pub, even though that line was when she didn't even own the pub anymore? (See here) Or how she managed to sneak out the back door to call Grant even though that would have meant walking in on Peggy asking Phil to help her die?

When she called Grant on her phone, the notepad was open  Kelly Rowland texting her boyfriend on Excel teas.

Pat *.*

Anyhow that was a very teary end, with hankies at the ready

Really emotional now :( :(

But fantastic send off all the nods to the past and tieing up knots

I think I'll have to rewatch tonight's because it was verging on bizarre, as much as I appreciate they were trying to make a worthy tribute.

Seeing Peggy with her hair down and walking out on the street was very moving; it's as if this was the woman she would become if she stayed alive and it's someone she wouldn't ever want to be.

Loved the tribute trailer afterwards, followed by the coming soon advert! Also looking forward to where Grant's next return will take us.

That was very powerful & emotional at the end especially with the ticking of the clock and stopping.

You'll never leave me, will you

Great nods off from the past and very emotional scene with her and Pat at the end.

That was incredibly emotional, such a fantastic send-off for Peggy and seeing Pat, even if it was all-but-confirmed already, gave me goosebumps, exactly what I wanted for her goodbye

Pat and Peggy back together at last

What a great episode!

It was quite bizarre at the end with the ticking of the clocks. There's no way Peggy would have made up with Sharon.

That was an amazing and beautiful episode.

Judging the trailer at the end

it looks like Bobby is gonna kill Jane
