The milkman saluting to the Queen Vic was a cringe.

Yeah, ever so slightly sycophantic at points but a whole deal more natural than Deirdre's death and funeral in Corrie this time last year. On the whole, it was a very fitting and poignant episode. I loved the scene with Patrick and Dot about closing their curtains and I could watch Steve McFadden all day.

Nice to see Grant back and it was a lovely touch with the camera showing the rose he had been holding laid down next to Peggy's grave.

Also, as much as Kim Medcalf is my favourite and the one I grew up with, I do like the way Danniella plays Sam and seems to know her version of the character well.

Daniella is playing Sam a lot less shrieky this time round-I can actually believe that she and Kim's Sam are the same character this time. Although odd that Sam turns up for the funeral only to miss almost the whole thing.

Legit was worried that Gavin could be Phil's father. The potential INCEST.

Nice to see Grant, would have been odd for him not to be there but it was also clear his scenes were filmed separately.

Also love Jack judging Sam as a mother when his son doesn't even know who he is.

And wtf at the Margaret scene? 'Gavin's acting strangely' ffs when is he not? What's he going to do? Loom out of the shadows for a three episode return to sneer and vaguely hint at plans?

That is obviously Margaret, you can tell by the clothes and the hair
Despite it being confusing as hell and Gavin being a flop of a villain, that was his first scene where I was actually excited for what was to come.
THEY WENT ALL WALKING DEAD ON US  Are we really supposed to believe that they've killed off Kathy again? Poor Marg :(
I'm sure that wasn't Kathy more like Gavin's sister.

If Margaret is dead, I'm going to be sooooo pissed.

I am getting ever so tired of Gavin getting his skull caved in and then randomly disappearing so that everyone is shocked. I mean, it's kind of expected now, isn't it?

It just feels like this whole Gavin story just hasn't worked out and has been a bit of a non event...

I think they should have spent more time establishing Kathy as a character when she returned and made Gavin seem more of a threat. As it is he's just popped in and out over the last 6 months, had a go at being terrifying and then disappearing again!

That and yes it's getting tedious now that he's been hit over the head twice and then miraculously reappears.

I hope this story concludes now and we can move on!

Still waiting for Archie to be remotely comparable to a care bear.

This is what makes him so flat as a villain, SO much hype comparing him to Archie who was actually one of the biggest villains, and all he's done is really implied - like he was clearly manipulative and abusive to Kathy in the past. He's not caused much trouble on screen apart from Sharon scrambling to get some money and now kidnapping Kathy, everything that's "scary" about him is what we're fed by the "hype" and he's still not delivering on screen.
