He walked in to a mess, but the guy was absolutely clueless. He had no idea what to do (not saying anyone else does) during most games.

I guess the surprising thing was this was not announced any sooner during the international break. Guess they'll probably promote some youth coach to be their manager.

Could easily see Villa end up the next Bolton/Charlton but I really hope not, a club with such a rich history!

Can't wait for them to go down myself. They will lag in the Championship for ages, and will do until Lerner goes.

No surprise about Remi Garde, they were doomed LONG before he arrived. I remember earlier in the season when I looked at the league table and saw that they lost 8 out of their first 10 matches, they're lucky that there not as bad as Derby in the 2007/08 season.

I can't see them coming straight back into the Premier League either and wont be too massively surprised if they get relegated again into League One. There will be a mass exodus of players in the summer for sure, maybe Jordan Ayew will join his brother Andre at Swansea?

I reckon David Moyes will be the next Villa manager for the 2016/17 season.

Aston Villa's Gabby Agbonlahor has been suspended by the club due to newspaper photos of him appearing to hold a shisha pipe.

It goes from bad to worse for Aston Villa

Villa lost 4-0 to Chelsea in the early kick off. Poor Eric Black. Looked completely helpless throughout the game as Chelsea dispatched them.

in other news, Man City lead Bournemouth 3-0 after just 20 minutes - wonder how many they will have by half time??

Wow what a day, will be probably the best MOTD of the season tonight and we haven't had Liverpool Vs Spurs yet.

Really? looking at the results it looks like a fairly predictable/anti-climactic set of results.

Well I don't see many of us scoring too highly in the Predictor game this weekend! OK so the big hitters pulled out big wins but the 2-2s & Norwich match will be good fun :D

Liverpool-Spurs game must have been great for the neutral, just a shame there weren't more goals!

Played at a crazy speed all game, draw was the fair result.

Massive win for Norwich...

Aston Villa have been on death row for the whole season and next week the execution will come.....

Another Payet wonder goal yesterday!

Shame we couldn't hold on for the win. Palace played well considering their run of form and looked the more likely to win it at the end. Never a red card for Kouyate though and I think had he stayed on we'd have won... Two points dropped. :(

Leicester play before Spurs next weekend, if they beat Sunderland that's the league over - it won't even be close!

3rd April 2015: Leicester in 20th place, 7 points from safety

3rd April 2016: Leicester in 1st place, 7 points ahead of Tottenham in 2nd place.

Last year if someone said this was going to happen you would have asked them where they keep their stash of weed

Incredible turnaround in a year for Leicester City. They only need 4 wins to guarantee the title.
