Happy to see Coldplay, will.i.am and Tom Odell added though....Skepta isn't a bad addition either tbf! Looks like this new british acts preference has kicked in already then. There are far too many on the playlist now imo!!
April 22, 201610 yr Great to see 'Boys and Girls' and 'Magnetised' added. Love both those tracks. Oops at 'Like I Would' I wonder if Zayn will manage any more hits at all off this album? I doubt it now. I'm not shocked Little Mix and Pink aren't added, though disappointing. Radio 1 still seem to cling to impact weeks, when in the new release climate they should be playlisting songs while they're high, instead of shoving them on the C list (which does nothing) weeks later, and then often contributing to a much more mediocre peak than the songs could have managed otherwise. Really great to see Nick Jonas on the A list, finding it bizarre how much it's taken off on streaming but has totally stalled on iTunes, hopefully this bump will provide it with what it needs to start properly climbing the iTunes chart.
April 22, 201610 yr Ooh I didn't know Coldplay were releasing 'Up&Up' - another perfect choice I think! They've picked the singles well this era. Probably won't do much chartwise though.
April 23, 201610 yr It seemed like Radio 1 switched from 'Pillowtalk' to 'Like I Would' faster than they switched from 'What Do You Mean?' to 'Sorry' last year, possibly thinking Zayn would have two hits at the same time like Justin Bieber did? Whether they are or aren't still going by impact dates I think LIW would have had a better chance if 'Pillowtalk' had more time to die down first. But who knows, maybe it would've done even worse if it was being pushed now or next month. I guess having a head start on a solo career could only get Zayn so far...
