Wow new RHCPs - this is a twice a decade phenomena - their last lead single peaked just outside the top 40, don't think radio 1 support them anymore!

Radio 1 gave a lot of support to 'The Adventures Of Rain Dance Maggie', though that was 5 years ago so maybe they're too old for them now. I'm sure the song will at least get nighttime support and possibly a TotD from them though, they're too big of a band to go completely unnoticed.

Generally depending on the song if radio 1 don't play them bands like the RHCPs get moved to r2 or 6 Music!

RHCPs are VERY Radio 2 these days, I suspect most of their fan base are of ‘that age’ - they haven't had a Top 40 hit for 9 years and I certainly don't see that changing any time soon.

 

Yeh they generally only release 2 albums a decade now lol - it'll be radio 2 if it's a MOR style song if not 6 music will take the mantle up like they do with 'legendary' acts like Suede, Primal Scream etc though both could play them.
