Rashford should definitely go, he may not be the best all round player but he's someone that can do something from NOTHING which is a very rare breed for English players these days.

For that same reason I think both Sterling & Sturridge need to go too. It doesn't matter how terrible a game they have if they score a 1-0 winner that's all that counts.

So who is getting cut from the England squad?

Delph is already gone, it's expected Townsend will be another. Guess a lot depends on the Sturridge injury, but even if he's semi fit I think he will go. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't take Barkley.

Was expecting Townsend to drop out. But Drinkwater shame to see him miss out. But there was no-way Roy would remove Wilshere from the squad was there?

Roy Hodgeson is an idiot, why leave out one of the best midfielders of the season and keep Wilshere who barely even played at all?

Wishere is a class above Drinkwater if he's fit, which the medical staff must think he is. Right call.

I'd have taken Townsend over Barkley.

It was inevitable that Wilshere would get in the team. Also inevitable that he'll be straight in the starting line up for the first game of the group stage.

Slightly miffed that Drinkwater didn't make it in however it is what it is, we should just be thankful that this is undoubtedly the best squad we've had in recent years and we have considerably more high quality (or above average) players available to us. Oh, and we've had no injuries of much importance (apart from Shaw however we knew he wouldn't make it match fit again in time)

Looking forward to the Portugal game - will be a real test of our ability to bring it against half decent sides. Something tells me we'll lose.

Love international football and this period in the build up to a feast of football over the next month - much prefer it to club football!!

It's a good squad, probably our best since 2006, but it's so unbalanced. We are going to really struggle against teams that dominate the midfield as our midfield is poor at controlling and dictating games. And the less that's said about our defence the better! I worry if we play a diamond 4-4-2 as we will need to play Walker/Rose for width, but teams will just waltz through our midfield.

And for Drinkwater, I thought he was okay against Netherlands, but so out of depth in the other two games, especially against Australia.

I'm the complete opposite. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the Euros/World Cups, but I just don't get that emotionally attached to England like I do with Bristol City. When City lose I'm pissed off for the whole week, when England lose I'm annoyed for a few hours and then I just forget about it. Obviously if England do lose a Euro/World Cup final, I will be more upset and annoyed for a longer period of time.

There doesn't seem to be much hype in England for Euro 2016. Years ago you would see England flags everywhere you went but I haven't seen any yet and the tournament starts next week!

I imagine cos they're quite tacky and I don't think there's much general excitement. I think things will ramp up next week.

The BBC currently showing an repeat of the Euro 96 match between England and Scotland with the original broadcast with Des Lynam, Ruud Gullit, the late Jimmy Hill and Alan Hansen.

Nostalgia there.

Which channel is that on? I can't see it on the listings.

Speaking of the BBC & Euro 96 there is a documentary from Alan Shearer based on that tournament at 10:45 tonight on BBC One. Next Wednesday there is a documentary from Thierry Henry about the history of the Euro's and about France in particular on BBC One as well.

Edit: The Thierry Henry documentary is actually next Tuesday on BBC One
