I have to say, the hosts make this year so much more palatable than this normally is. They're just too endearing.

They're pretty wonderful aren't they? It's the main reason I'd be happy with Sweden winning and hosting this again, Petra and Mans are hosting everything with such a knowing smile and lovely attitude.

Belgium - 7.7

Czech Republic - 2.5

Czech Republic - Typical Eurovision borefest. Hopefully it will be bottom 5. <_<

Never write off the ESC! :P

yeah it seems to be picking up now :D

Ooh this Douwe track is going to be fab

Goodness me, the Czech woman made the most painful note I've ever heard in my life, towards the end of that.

Czech Republic / Gabriela Gunčíková - I Stand / I do really like this, she's a fantastic vocally but I find that the main hook makes the song feel like it drags and by the time you get to the end, you actually want her to take a seat. Nice song, will probably get lost though. 7/10

01 Belgium / Laura Tesoro - What's The Pressure / 7.5/10

02 Czech Republic / Gabriela Gunčíková - I Stand / 7/10

Again, I've not rated this in the runup to the final but the narrative of it being the Czech's first qualifier and being a sweet ballad have endeared me.

It's one of the biggest, slowest ballads tonight, there's a FEW more uptempos than previous years.

Belgium - 7.7

Czech Republic - 2.5

The Netherlands - 8.2

The Netherlands - I didn't like this at first, but it has grown on me. Dutch country music. lol ^_^

Belgium 6/10 - flour east did it better

Czech Republic 3/10 - booooooring

Netherlands 5/10 - well it's okay that's all

The Netherlands / Douwe Bob - Slow Down / OPEN YOUR EYES. Seriously though, one of the biggest growers from semi to final for me. The silence is still ridiculous, I'll never love a country song like this but it is pretty charming as a song. He's not a very charming performer I find though, especially with that faux-country accent that's not necessary, but I can't deny the song any longer. 7/10

That stop is going to be the main thing to remember about that. Although I do respect the Netherlands sticking to a niche, this is no Calm After The Storm.
