I wish there was a Now That's What I Call Underrated so artists' other hits can get a look in opposed to the usual suspects. Maybe the songs that followed the huge worldwide smashes and underperformed due to radio and the public still supporting said huge worldwide smash.

I'd buy a copy of that spin-off if it was made.

I think I may have posted this somewhere before, but here is a spin-off compilation I wish they would release;

Will we get a special compilation though? We had Now 30 Years in 2014 which commemorated all of the biggest songs on 3 CDs. It would be nice if they give a nod to 100 editions though.

Awardinary - Brilliant!! As someone whose iTunes library is mostly filled with songs from Now albums this would fill in a lot of gaps nicely!

I wish there was a Now That's What I Call Underrated so artists' other hits can get a look in opposed to the usual suspects. Maybe the songs that followed the huge worldwide smashes and underperformed due to radio and the public still supporting said huge worldwide smash.

See this would be great, but even if you restricted it to major artists it still wouldn't probably get a release as a Now album of obscure songs would be seen as commercial suicide by the bigwig bosses.

Here's an alternative Now That's What I Call The 1990s tracklisting, all the artists had #1 singles but picking the follow-ups less people know:

For me something like that would be great, but it looks like it could be a tracklist to some budget Rhino compilation. Like you say, it would be commercial suicide to put this out as a full price album. Aside from Now completists and people who love pop flops, like the ones of us who frequent this thread, nobody would buy this.

I do really wish the Now compilers were more inspired in their choices. I think a really well chosen tracklist will shift more copies in the long run too as it would be a good catalogue seller. Something throwaway like the upcoming crap Now Dance compilation won't have a shelf life beyond the first few weeks. Whereas something like Now Classic Rock was much more interesting. In terms of originality they seem to be either fantastic (usually the ones with a genre theme that isn't dance or pop) or tragic (all the others post-2012).

If Now 95 were released today, here's how I would compile the first disc;

CD1

1. Drake feat. Wizkid & Kyla – One Dance

2. Major Lazor feat. Justin Bieber & MØ – Cold Water

3. The Chainsmokers feat. Halsey – Closer

4. Olly Murs – You Don't Know Love

5. DJ Snake feat. Justin Bieber – Let Me Love You

6. MØ – Final Song

7. Anne-Marie – Alarm

8. Twenty One Pilots – Heathens

9. Christine And The Queens – Tilted

10. M.O – Who Do You Think Of?

11. Fifth Harmony feat. Fetty Wap – All In My Head (Flex)

12. Britney Spears feat. G-Eazy – Make Me...

13. TIEKS feat. Dan Harkna – Sunshine

14. Bob Marley & The Wailers feat. LVNDSCAPE & Boiler – Is This Love?

15. John Gibbons – Would I Lie To You

16. Offaiah – Trouble

17. Kungs feat. Jamie N Commons – Don't You Know

18. Imany – Don't Be So Shy [Filatov & Karas Remix]

19. Martin Garrix feat. Bebe Rexha – In The Name Of Love

20. MK & Becky Hill – Piece Of Me

21. Katy Perry – Rise

Many more contenders to come up until it's likely release date of late November, but these are the songs I'd like to see feature.

Any thoughts?

Looking at that theoretical omissions tracklisting made me wonder why they never put "Long Hot Summer" by Girls Aloud on one of the Now Summer spinoffs, it's such a missed opportunity. Poor "Long Hot Summer", it's their only single not to appear on a Now album, and it's one of my personal faves too.

It as indeed the only Girls Aloud single not to be included, well spotted. At the time of its release, Now 62 contained Biology but there was definitely room for them to have a double appearance as so many artists do these days.

A couple of others I remembered which I would personally have liked to seen included;

Bruno Mars – When I Was Your Man {2}

Steps – One For Sorrow {2}

S Club 7 – Two In A Million {2}

N*Sync – I Want You Back {5}

Christina Aguilera, Lil Kim, Mya & P!nk feat. Missy Elliott – Lady Marmalade {1}

Coldplay – The Scientist {10}

"Two In A Million" was the a-side for "You're My Number One" which appeared on NOW 45. "Lady Marmalade" never appeared due to Sony's commitment with The Hits and I don't understand why "When I Was Your Man" got snubbed in favour of "Treasure" which peaked lower

Lady Marmalade never appeared in the Hits series either.

I never liked Treasure, would have been so much better if they put the correct song on the volume.

Also, Perfect by One Direction. Such a bizarre omission.

I also imagine that if Now 91's tracklist had been made after Get Stupid crashed at #28, Earned It would have been Track 9 of Disc 1 instead.

Now! That's What I Call Dance Hits is out today.

Are they seriously having a giggle with some of the songs on there though? :mellow:

In what way is I Hate You I Love You or indeed a lot of the songs in the tracklist 'dance hits'????

Also, unless I'm mistaken, other than a few remixes of songs already in the main series, there's only 1 song that features which wasn't in the main series and that's the flop by Jay Sean feat. Sean Paul – Make My Love Go. :angry:

DJ S.K.T didn't make the main series either. Zayn isn't dance either. If they included his top 40 hit "Like I Would", that would be better

No, if they were to release a special album to celebrate 100 editions of Now, they'll release two discs worth of songs from the last three years and cram everything else onto disc 3 (and really uninspired, overused choices at that as well). :D

I'd do a prediction of what Now 100 Editions would look like, but I doubt more than half the songs on that album have already been recorded. So, here's Disc 3:

Disc 3:

1. U2 - With Or Without You (4:55)

2. Spandau Ballet - True (5:28)

3. George Michael - Careless Whsiper (5:01)

4. Pet Shop Boys - Always On My Mind (4:02)

5. New Order - Blue Monday (4:03)

6. Madonna - Vogue (4:55)

7. Queen - These Are The Days Of Our Lives (4:13)

8. Ace Of Base - All That She Wants (3:30)

9. Take That - Back For Good (3:58)

10. Coolio vs. L.V. - Gangsta's Paradise (4:01)

11. Michael Jackson - Earth Song (5:02)

12. Spice Girls - Wannabe (2:53)

13. R. Kelly - I Believe I Can Fly (4:41)

14. Mariah Carey & Whitney Houston - When You Believe (4:31)

15. Céline Dion - My Heart Will Go On (4:39)

16. Shania Twain - That Don't Impress Me Much (3:56)

17. Oasis - Stop Crying Your Heart Out (5:02)

18. Girls Aloud - Sound Of The Underground (3:38)

Total length: 1:19:01

For anything else from 2003-2013, that would appear as a mini-section of Disc 2, alongside the 2013-2016 section for that disc and the spills of 2016-2018 which couldn't fit on Disc 1.

Just seen an ad advertising 2 for £15 on all NOW spin-offs which ends next Thursday. To be fair, they should include the albums from the main series in that offer
