July 6, 20169 yr Dont bother guys. If Drake is not kicked out from number one spot this week then he is going to have it for at least another 2 weeks. Reasons: 1) The One Dance Video is meant to drop sometime this week or next. 2) It is rumoured he will be making guest appearances at a few people's set this weekend in the Wireless Festival in Finsbury Park - Future, Boy Better Know (Skeptas) and possibly J Cole. I can bet you everybody in that stadium will be streaming more of his songs after the weekend Major Lazer feat. Justin Bieber is supposedly out on the 15th according to a deleted Diplo tweet, so don't get your hopes up. This week and next week are likely to be his last.
July 6, 20169 yr Looks like there will be no new entries which means no dropouts. The UK charts are becoming more stale than the US charts Edited July 6, 20169 yr by Hadji
July 6, 20169 yr Except Sorry's likely re-entry at least. Can see Hype at #39 being pushed out by either Heathens or Needed Me too, the latter would of course be a new entry.

I can't see JB hanging onto his re-entry as his streaming is slowly dying. Hope "Needed Me" can enter so we have at least one new entry Edited July 6, 20169 yr by Hadji
July 6, 20169 yr No wonder people have stopped showing much interest in the charts. One Dance feels nowhere near as popular is Umbrella did when it at this kind of chart run. I mean, it's down to #13 on iTunes, yet still #1, it's kind of just #1 by default. This is exactly what I think! It's laughable that One Dance is looking to have a 13th or 14th week at #1 when I don't think it's anywhere near as big as other long-running #1s. I get that streaming needs to be included into the chart for it to reflect relevance but the whole structure of the charts atm is a mess.
July 6, 20169 yr Rihanna ended up at #41 last week, and this week her streaming is much better, which is what matters these days, so sure she'll be top 40 once the missing streaming data is added
July 6, 20169 yr It's a shame 'Don't Let Me Down' is by far outdoing 'Roses', for me it's not even close to being a patch on it. Good to see Ariana's 'Into You' looking like being a decent sized top 20 (like 'Dangerous Woman'), it's all I was hoping for and anything more is a bonus. I am actually deeply sick of the whole Drake thing now, I do agree it feels like it's #1 by default. Once something breaks through on streaming it just sticks around due to people becoming that regimented in their listening habits and things getting the bulk if their plays from promoted playlists. A "million seller" holds pretty much no prestige at the moment.
July 6, 20169 yr Highly doubt that is happening...especially as they are still struggling to sell Wireless tickets. The video may give it a little boost though. Remember your statement above - when you see him running through the 6 with his woes on stage this weekend in London, we will have a chat next week - lol
July 6, 20169 yr I actually prefer Don't Let Me Down to Roses. The breakdown in DLMD is just incredible.
July 6, 20169 yr Roses is nice but Don't Let Me Down is sooo much better for me, was very instant! Delighted to see it coming for the top 10 :D
July 6, 20169 yr I prefer Roses actually but seeing as DLMD is going to out-peak it anyway, it may as well be a top 10 for them! :D and also, it's very interesting seeing just how many weeks Drake can spend at #1 (even though it's annoyingly blocked two of my fave songs of the year, Calvin/Rihanna and Kungs, from going to #1), so long live the King http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ed2305b7.png
July 6, 20169 yr Sigh.. Drake at number 1 again but probably only top 20 on sales. One Dance is the 10th biggest selling single of the week so far (downloads only).
July 6, 20169 yr I don't think its streaming itself that's the problem; it's these new Spotify default playlists based around music genres, that flash up in your face as soon as you open the program. They're the equivalent of mini radio stations. I'm convinced a lot of Drake's success is down to the genre crossover-ness of One Dance allowing it to be featured on pop, rap, dance and R&B playlists and so giving it four bites at the cherry, so to speak. How many people just put a playlist on on repeat in the background and in doing so rack up 'sales' throughout the day? I know a lot of workplaces that do, not to mention e.g. cafes that do it as backing music. All those uses of music still 'count' as sales. Would be nice to see 'Needed Me' going in. Is it getting radio play anywhere in the UK? Edited July 6, 20169 yr by 360Jupiter
July 6, 20169 yr wow so a cool quarter of the year at #1 for drake’s ‘one dance’~ *.* ‘one dance’ is still the most listened to song of the moment, so arguably it’s the most valid long running blockbuster #1 we’ve ever had! download sales are well on their way to total obscurity and irrelevance, like CDs, cassettes and vinyl, and no longer resemble anything like an accurate gauge of a songs popularity~
