July 10, 20169 yr I'm not saying this to discredit the mods, and I know that Lew does frequent plug, but if playing songs on plug is becoming an issue (it's a part of this site now as many people do use it and enjoy it), maybe someone knowledgeable from the "plug clique" should be on the mod team? That would maybe shed a bit of light on what goes on, it feels like using plug is unfairly targetted by mods who in my eyes mostly don't know or use the site a lot when there are methods used to share potentials that are equally effective and don't get quashed. This is not me pining for a mod spot or wanting one of my friends to get it in a petty way, I just think that not even being a mod, just adding to the veto panel maybe, even if it was different each month like when there were guest "panellists" a couple of years ago.

July 10, 20169 yr to avoid any future confusion, hints should either be banned or taken with a pinch of salt, and the confirmation period should be shorter as to not let anyone slip into vetoe-worthy territory. i'm sure it sucks to be Tim right now, but perhaps he did disclose a little too many clues as to what song he has entered HOWEVER, the point he is making is that everyone does that - if you're gonna crack down on this, use this situation as the stimulus for a rule, don't just jump straight to banning songs and members. so much agg, this contest should be fun :drama:

July 10, 20169 yr I feel like this has gone way over the top. I don't like to involve myself in conflict but I feel this is unfair to Tim. Tim posted an emoji in his thread for the song. I commented 'YASSS' or something like that because he made the right choice of song. So I feel people are not only not allowed to play potentials on plug, but send others their potentials because it is unfair? This really is an embarrassing argument which is actually making me want to not participate in this again. It is an online song contest, not an election or life or death situation. These arguments every damn month are not why I participate in the contest.

July 10, 20169 yr Right. Soz peoples I've just pulled into the garage of my building now. What's occurring now will be: 1 - PSA 2 - Full revised Rules reveal 3 - formal response to Tim Anything left unanswered after this, flag it up and I'll cover it. Hopefully we should cover pretty much everything here. The order is purely down to the fact that 1&2 are prepared while it's gonna take me a bit to fully catch up with everything that has been going on. I'll try and cover all the points raised but it won't be with multi quotes and a direct reply to your post because from what I can see there is a common theme to a few comments that we can answer together that saves us repeating ourselves and gets an answer to you quicker.

July 10, 20169 yr i don’t see why tim has been effectively made to grovel to keep his entry, when following their own framework the mods had no business vetoing it in the first place~ :rolleyes: there’s a huge difference between lip service and actually listening to and taking on board feedback! :mellow: ALL feedback should be gratefully received, wherever it falls in the forum, not just in one ‘suggestions’ thread :banghead:. this is a message board, which people frequent in their leisure time, not some remedial mba project ~ it’s this cussed intransigence and tunnel vision, which appears to be deeply ingrained into some of the mods psyche, which is the root cause of 99% of the difficulties and friction in this forum~
July 10, 20169 yr In all fairness to the mods they have now said they are sorting it in response to Tim, and the other members who've voiced concerns as well. Revising rules and sorting out what they are going to do isn't something that can be magicked out of thin air, at least they ARE doing it and it'll come in due course. I'd rather this was sorted out properly and took a bit of time than it just be half arsed one of the mods being like "well lol sorry nothing is happening" or something. We've all had problems but it's very rude to act like that personally towards a mod as if the mods are a hivemind ruled by just one. Tim has accepted what is happening, that it will be discussed properly, so why shouldn't everyone else?
