I do like Artists setting records and stuff but when it comes to good music just missing out (Sia, Calvin & Rihanna, JT and Kungs), we could have had 4 other #1's. It had to happen sometime anyway where acts will probably stay longer at #1 but 13 weeks is just too much and probably 2 more weeks to add. I'm sure back at the time when Bryan Adams was out, everyone was moaning, "oh great, another week for Bryan Adams".

Yes i was one of those people moaning he was still number 1 as i was bored of the song. I cant remember exactly but it was either Jason Donovan or U2's limited release of the Fly that eventually knocked it off number 1.

This is a really good track. It deserves to be huge.

The Fly knocked it off, Any Dream Will Do was prior to the Bryan Adams track.

ikr, it's her best single since OTF. This week the song reached TOP 10 in Germany and it's doing really good in Europe so far, after the AKA disaster.

UK needs to follow -_-

Yeah and it sounds like a hit, I hope R1 get behind it

I'm 99.9% sure Radio 1 won't be playlisting Jennifer Lopez. I don't think they've playlisted her since 'I'm Into You' which was 5 years ago and she's seen as old and irrelevant in the UK now.

:cheer:

Yeah Radio 1 definitely snubbed Live It Up :(

Ain't Your Mama could be a HUUUGE hit with support, such a shame J-Lo is seen as past it by radio stations :/

Ah they didn't? I think I had that idea because she was on Scott's show once after she performed it on BGT. :(
bit disappointed Olly's single didn't go higher considering the low sales on itunes and the r1 support from the get going
Not really understanding the love for "Dancing on my own". I love the original and the new one is just boring, even his vocal annoys me, the original should have been the one as high as what his version is currently.

Low sales affect Olly too you know! :P It got off to a great start, hopefully looking at a top 20 debut.

Olly will be fine. 'Kiss Me' didn't peak until a good five/six weeks into its chart run and still got really good airplay and sustained sales, he'll most likely be doing TV promo around beginning of August as its scheduled 'impact' date is 12th next month. He is off on a national radio tour tomorrow and into next week, the video will more than likely be dropping this week as well as they played a clip of it on ITV London news on Friday.
looks like the days when artists with big fan bases could have an OAOS song and get to #1 on week 1 are gone... was Pillowtalk the last one?
Well 'One Dance' would've done it if it wasn't a mid week release I think!

they're not exactly gone, it's just that there haven't been many big names releasing recently. (Also, Calvin Harris & Rihanna were very unlucky to have released whilst One Dance was at its sales peak, otherwise that would've been an OA/OS #1).

Olly Murs just isn't big enough to get a top 10 in week one from name power, it'll peak later on like Kiss Me did.
