But, I did find that tweet a bit "you serious?" when I first saw it myself last night. Just because I can't get passed just how hypocritical she is. Some of these tweets are harsh, but they have valid points. I don't mind that she wasn't there marching if she couldn't due to work etc... I saw a lot of other celebs say (paraphrasing slightly ofc) "Unfortunately I wasn't able to march, but I am so proud..." etc.. So where do you guys stand? Is this all blown out of proportion? That one tweet though: "Taylor doesn't speak: Gets hate Taylor speaks: Gets hate" Is true too, tbh.
January 23, 20178 yr That tweet is correct. It's not as if every feminist celebrity with an opinion would've been at the march, and why should Taylor have to write a whole essay on why she didn't go? Perhaps she was working, out of the country visiting people, whatever, why should she have to explain absolutely every little thing about why she does or doesn't do things just because it's cool to hate Taylor Swift and people will jump on her? :lol: I perfectly understand people's problems with her approach to certain things or her personality so I'm not being a biased stan but honestly I'm sure she was far from the only feminist celebrity not to go and march, so I don't see the problem?! Any number of things could've meant she couldn't and didn't go, but people just assume there's some conspiracy where she pretends to be feminist for record sales and then spends all day worshipping Trump or some shit :lol: Perhaps the reason she stays quiet is because she gets enough shit as it is! As I said I get why people wouldn't like her or her music, and that's fine, but why is EVERYTHING she does always so wrong and such a fuss? As that tweet said, if she didn't tweet at all about it, her mentions would have exploded with people moaning.
January 23, 20178 yr I agree with Liam entirely on this, I don't get what's wrong with Taylor's tweet at all. I've seen many celebrities (male and female) tweet their support for those marching even if they didn't make it themselves - what's the big deal? Taylor can't do right for doing wrong, it's a bit tiresome at this point to see people jumping on her for anything. Really don't get the issue with her tweet.

I agree with Liam that should could easily have been out of the country and unable to attend the march. ultimately it's just sly and shows a lack of principle for own personal gain and adoration. the fact she's only friends with famous people she brings them out on show, records and sends out videos of herself doing nice things; coupled with the details of what i quoted further up from last year, she's evidently not a particularly nice nor principled person. she shows elements of sociopathy! does it really matter if the music is good though? do the popstars we like have to hold admirable personalities and be incredibly likeable and relatable? it works for adele but think of madonna etc. the detachment matches the fantasy.
