Still Jessie J's best performance ever though. 'Extra' qualifier Girl On Fire can't really do much either and it makes up a fairly easy bottom 3 with that Demi Lovato track which won't be taking up a precious AQ spot anymore. Yay. Actually, there aren't many shock eliminations here aside from just below the AQ zone where Cheryl and Jessie Ware's Wildest Moments just fail to make it back in from the top 20 last year. Kind of a shame for Wildest Moments even though I definitely subscribe to the idea that 110% If You're Never Gonna Move is far superior. That also fails to make it up.Β 35 44 9 Stooshe - Black Heart 176 34 56 1 P!nk - Blow Me (One Last Kiss) 180 33 41 22 Owl City (feat. The one that isn't, Good Time, gets back as an AQ for the first time since it was seeded 5th in 2012's debut and finished in the bottom 6. The highest playoff qualifier She Wolf probably benefits from the Guetta + Sia magic touch, it's nearly as good as the other GuettaSia track in here and I guess this reflects that.Β A bit of last minute change in the top 15, Primadonna was in there before Jay voted but loses out, and several songs that were in contention last year don't make it, the pop-friendly Something New and Starships and DNA. They and Taylor Swift have fallen out of the top 15 at the expense of indie records that are a lot cooler than them. Oh and the Euphoria-beating and John Newman-#1-giving Feel The Love sadly doesn't make it either.Β 15 7 - Disclosure (feat. Sam Smith) - Latch 235 14 29 - Calvin Harris (feat. Really making up for her poor performance in the earlier years, both Calvin-assisted Florence tracks get in when they didn't last year, as do We Are Young, Anything Could Happen and Born To Die, quite the cool indie mix I'd say. B-) Losing You holds up very well from its shock silver medal last year but can't quite make it to the final, with the same applying to dancefloor rap anthem 212.Β 5 18 - Ellie Goulding - Figure 8 325 4 4 - Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe 327 3 6 - Gotye (feat. Kimbra) - Somebody That I Used To Know 333 2 3 - David Guetta (feat. Sia) - Titanium 372 1 1 - Loreen - Euphoria 440Β So it seems Buzzjack completely agrees that Figure 8 was the hit that never was for Ellie Goulding as it flies straight into the final along with 4 of 2012's heavyweights, Call Me Maybe, Titanium and Somebody That I Used To Know were three of the best and biggest hits of the year so that's all fine but the dominance of Buzzjack's Eurovision darling Loreen carries over even to ROTD and she remains atop her podium - in 2012 at least, can she continue her strong run in the final final?
August 12, 20168 yr Jessie J last  (though with one of her better songs tbh)Β Katy Perry bombing pretty hard, aw :( 'Wide Awake' is my favourite song by her. Β G'won 'Somebody That I Used To Know', 'Figure 8' and 'Born To Die' That climb for 'Figure 8' in particular! *.*
August 15, 20168 yr Shame for Greyhound but it put in a good performance overall.Β Fantastic to see Euphoria win overall & Figure 8 make the final directly, a satisfying set of results for 2K12.
