I don't want them dropping surprise Sonia on us. She must always come with a warning or not at all. Stacey is such a legend.

DON'T TOUCH DOT'S PUSSY YOU DON'T KNOW WHERE IT'S BEEN !!!!!

I was HOWLING at that and when Dot mentioned Ethel's little Willy again.

Lovely episode. Not overdramatic but heartwarming in a non boring way. I love how all the cast featured (except I didn't love Sonia of course) even those who only showed through video.

Stacey has really become the star of the show again this year, but in completely different way to how she was 2007-10. The word 'iconic' gets chucked around a lot but I really think Stacey is/will be one. I hope this new Fowler set-up will be the leading family of 2017, although not in an overly dominant way of course.

I LOVED the Christmas episode - it had me glued to the set not for the drama but for the humour and warmness of it all. I look forward to see where the Max storyline goes, as he is one of my favourite characters and 9 years ago to this day was one of my all time favourite episodes.

Dot's story is breaking my heart but her SASS when arriving at the Vic made it all worth it <3

On another note, how weird is it that, given recent news, there was a scene tonight with Donna, Billy and Honey all realising their Christmas cracker trivia questions were all about Wham's 'Last Christmas' and we had the recording of Heather talking about George Michael yesterday?

Yeah I really liked the episode too! Recent epiosdes have felt dull but that had the right amount of everything for me. There's excitement to come with Max back and Michelle definitely having a lot more to her coming back than just wanting to visit for Christmas, but it was a really funny and warm episode, Dot's sass and of course drunk Kathy being the highlights!

Also agree about Stacey, she had blips over the past year or so but she is so essential and amazing even in episodes like this. I'd say of characters introduced in the last 10 years or so (I know she's a bit longer than that), she must be the most iconic.

Stacey could be satan, but closing the screen on Sonia has made her an automatic Queen of Life.
As a huge fan of the show for years, i have been struggling to enjoy any full episode for months now and the Christmas episodes have done nothing to change that. I think this was the worst Christmas episode i can remember.
I've quite enjoyed the past 2 days, I must admit. And New Year is almost always better than Christmas of late.
The Christmas episode was brilliant, but as usual Boxing Days' episodes end up as a dull squib, surely Max Branning is playing mind games with the Beales, hardly anything else worth talking about, I still can't get over Dot's pussy from yesterday

A premature end of year credits, but I suspect that means Thursday and Friday's duff duffs are dramatic and not appropriate for them.

Another strong episode. I'm even liking Ronnie again!

I did find that pretty strange, maybe they were filmed out of sequence, the last few episodes of the year.

Max SLAYED me: you two have turned out alright...

Lauren ran over her dad and almost killed herself with alcohol.

Abi killed a dog, battered Lucy, faked a pregnancy and shut Babe in the freezer.
