I literally feel my skin crawl when Mick and Whitney have scenes together it feels like every time they do they are going to kiss and I can feel myself screaming noooo inside
Probably get a sneak peek tonight for next week events, I must admit its a bit controversial

in the light of a similar event in Germany or Belgium

, actually there is 2 episodes tonight with 1 at 9pm apparently, probably the missing episode from last week.

I just can't get over that, I'm still cackling over it

I really wish Jack was dead. I was pretty much Dot, hoping Charlie would show, scoop up Matthew and vanish into the night.

Is Glenda really sticking around? It seems an odd direction to go in after killing off her two biggest links to the show. Can't complain though.

Superb scenes with Dot convincing Jack to go to the funeral. In fact, Dot has been my fave tonight.

Denise saying she's not got many baby photos of Chelsea and Libby left because of the B&B fire in 2011 was a nice touch, especially when soaps usually completely forget fires do actually destroy things for good.

The rave in the church was giving me life. Tbh, when the reverend said about this being R&R's favourite song, I was totally expecting 'The Girls' to start playing.

The Carters to lose their licence and for Sharon to take over after leaving Phil once and for all please.

The scene where Max was completely nonchalant when Jack was beating the shit out of Danny was quite chilling. Clearly he's learned to just not say anything after what he must have seen go on in prison. Oh and Glenda's slap was everything.

Aaron who?

It's the son of Tony, Phil's transplant friend. It took me ages for it to click with me, I thought, following on from Phil's secret phone call on Thursday, that it could have been Lisa's step son and she was finally coming back.

Similarly, I too was expecting Charlie to turn up at some point.

Louise's scene about her 'date' Travis accepting the friend request of a girl called Delta from Australia was a nice touch I thought :D Wonder where they came up with that name?
Mick and Whitney really are c**ts aren't they? I can't wait for Lee to leave so he can escape them.

OMG that disaster is RIDICULOUS!!!

I have NEVER seen a bus aroundd/ fit under the bridge or squeeze around the teeny riny roads around the tight square to set a precedent!!

I don't think so? You have to remember that they have no idea Lee is having such a hard time like we do. They don't know he's borderline suicidal.

Whitney doesn't but Mick does.

And whether he's suicidal is besides the point. They have known for well over a year that he suffers with depression and think nothing of it, they think he should be ok as longs as they throw pills at him. They are constantly forcing him into situations he's not comfortable with and unwilling to listen to how he feels. He didn't want the baby initially and was told to 'man up' and not let anyone down. All Whitny does is bang on about her perfect vision of her life without even sitting down and discussing the financial realities of such. Mick is the absolute worst. His only priority is Linda and his kids are a pretty distant last. He's always throwing hissy fits whenever they have problems that might put too much pressure on L. He's a whiny bitch. He believes he should protect his wife and so must Lee. He's a misogynistic pig. Even now, on discovery of Lee's actual wage, they're both bitching about what a selfish turd he is for not being honest with them instead of thinking 'shit, Lee couldn't find it in him to be honest with us, I wonder why'.

I know it's realistic that often people don't notice when people close to them are suffering but Lee's practically had a red light flashing above his head for over a month now and the two closest family members to him are more concerned about how they feel than how their mentally unwell relative is feeling. It makes me sick.

Friday's second part was ridiculous and i'm finding the entire fallout of the sisters' death utterly ridiculous. Made even more so by that ludicrous beating up of Danny, Jack and Glenda going full circle, back round again and eventually MOVING IN TOGETHER in the space of one episode - it felt like there were loads of scenes missing building up their changing feelings between them. The entire story post death.. people forgetting about them instantly, Roxy being completely sidelined and shitted on posthumously, the amount of bickering despite people trying to mourn, Jack in general.

The strong point of the show has been the Denise storyline but now Kim's reaction is making me scratch my head... Her primary idea is that family should stick together no matter what and love should bind them.... "Denise you're dead to me".. how hypocritical of her.

Babe is the star of the show now.

Jack is obviously not a hard man even if he lookd like a caveman. I wish he'd stop winning all the fights.
I just fail to see the point of Jack without Ronnie and Roxy. Max doesn't need him.

I've enjoyed a fair bit of R&R's death aftermath but I can certainly appreciate the criticism and I definitely share a few of them. The main problem is that Jack isn't a sympathetic character and Glenda hasn't been in the show enough so it's hard to really feel sorry for them. Both actors have done well with the material given but ultimately it's not enough for us to muster up any true sympathy. Other have said it and I'm starting to agree: as great as the NYD episode was and how powerful the image of both sisters dead, floating side by side, was, I think it would have been better if Roxy had stayed alive. That's a character who people genuinely care about so, to see her suffering with grief and facing up to the idea of carrying on with life without the constant presence of Ronnie, we'd have really felt something.

As for the Lee storyline, I don't mind the fact that Whitney and Mick are portrayed as flawed characters because both are true depictions of real life and are well in-character. The thing that must happen is for them to both eventually realise their roles in Lee's depression and how they really should have acted more appropriately. The show has definitely taken steps to show that both characters are in the wrong - such as Thursday's episode when Lee told Whitney how she kept making subtle hints that she wanted a big wedding and their own home, even if she didn't explicitly say it, or when Babe confronted the other week. Story arcs are very important in soaps and I feel like they've been neglected in recent years, but the signs that this will make a return are there. All of what T Boy said is correct; Mick especially is pretty repulsive at times, but if they realise the faults in their behaviour and develop as characters as a result, then I don't see any reason why they can't be likable again. I'd be disappointed if this didn't happen as it makes viewing of these bad times just a waste of time otherwise, if we realise there's going to be no development.
