Rihanna has released 50 singles during her career but what were the songs that you hated that went on to be one? Discuss

'We Ride' is the obvious choice (although I don't hate it, it's just a bit naff!) especially when she was sitting on 'Kisses Don't Lie'!!

Completely agreed with Adam! 'Kisses Don't Lie' or 'Break It Off' (which went on to be a Billboard top 10 smash for her anyway, right?) would have done MUCH bigger things. But thankfully, the single that folowed was the career beginning, 'Umbrella'!

I always thought 'Rehab' being a single that late into the campaign was a bizarre choice. Especially over 'Breakin' Dishes' and 'You Da One' was a wasted effort. That should've been 'Talk That Talk'. Buttttt 'Te Amo' is probably my biggest "Why?" with her. I am still bitter about her snubbing 'Fire Bomb'. :drama:

Te Amo and Rudeboy together were ikonek for that summer. Fire Bomb, Breaking Dishes are throaway cheesy pop that would have no business as singles.

I agree that 'You da One' was an odd choice after the monster single WFL. I also agree with 'We Ride'. 'American Oxygen' as a single was also quite wtf and 'FourFiveSeconds' as any sort of lead too I guess... Although I still hear it pretty often on Dutch Radio and I think it will stand the test of time.

At the time SUAD/HTILY were also odd choices for singles when they had 'Don't Stop the Music', but I think they were going for a really long campaign so they tried not to run out of smashes immediately (which eventually worked out). Perhaps that's what they also tried during the TTT era?

BREAK IT OFF WASN'T A SINGLE?!?!

All I've ever known is now a lie

I think it might've been a single in the US, tbh. It peaked in it's 14th week or something on the Hot 100 (at #9!). I think it was a pretty similar situation to 'Needed Me' tbh. A song us in the UK probably wouldn't class as a single or something, but was actually a huge hit for you guys!

I've always wanted to see a video for 'Break It Off' as it's always been my fave on the album, so I'm really upset we didn't get it as a single. :(

What about that utter meaningless tuneless PILE, Where Have You been?

That and Screech and Whine on the radio at the SAME FOOKIN TEEM!! FOOKIN GROSS!!! :puke: :PUKE1:
