I dont think Halsey is that big of a deal to help them achieve it. It was bound to be a hit regardless of whether it was her, Daya, Zara or Tove Lo.

I really don't get that Chainsmokers track at all. :( I can't help but think they're at their imperial phase right now and this high profile-ish hyped collaboration has helped elevate them to this?

I completely agree, I just don't get why it's doing so well. 'Don't Let Me Down' is easily the much better track.

I'd say Halsey is unknown in the UK, so she isn't the reason it's shaping up to be a massive hit. It's not even a good song!

I just think people are buying/streaming it because it's by The Chainsmokers. I can only see them getting bigger and bigger.

Maybe the song is doing well because people like it? It is a very accessible song and the drop is very 2016.
Halsey has a small fanbase over here for sure, I mean she managed a top 10 album last year didn't she? I see a few people on Twitter raving about her too. I'm sure her name helped kickstart Closer at the very least.

Yep, you'll find that twenty one pilots, Panic! At The Disco, Melanie Martinez and Halsey's fanbases all overlap for the most part so I think people are underestimating her popularity.

And that was without HMV sales! I remember calling up all my local stores asking if they had it and they didn't even know what I was talking about

Melanie and Halsey in particular. I adore both :kink:

SOOOOO happy 'Liar' and 'Just Luv Me' are the highest! Especially shocked at 'Liar'! *.*

'Better' would be SO much higher had it been tagged as a Major Lazer song. :(

15. Bob Marley & The Wailers - Is This Love (feat. LVNDSCAPE & Bolier)

Looks like it's on its way up now - I wouldn't write this off for being a future top 20. Maybe a bit 'too little, too late', though, what with this seemingly being an essential summer track and summer nearly being over, but I can hope.

Not minding Closer right now actually, I like the verses but the drop is very underwhelming. However that's still far preferable to Let Me Love You in which the drop in that sounds like a demented frog.

I'm not surprised Closer's looking like a possible number 1, were people really expecting this to flop? It sounds like exactly the sort of thing that would be a hit in 2016 accompanied with the Chainsmokers increasing profile and I'm seeing the lyric video on the music channels so much.

It is average and anonymous though (and Halsey is completely underused, I wouldn't have been able to tell it was her, same can be said for the song in general in really), still annoyed that their best song, Roses was the one that wasn't a huge smash :(

57. Neil Diamond - Forever In Blue Jeans omg is this a new single? My dad loves him so he'll be hyped.

Am I the only one who'll admit being old enough to know it's not a new single? It's so old that he refers to wearing jeans as if it's a bad thing. (1979, to be exact).

It featured predominately in Class of '92 last night, which is probably why it's back in the iTunes chart.
