Depends on how good the song is if ed has written it I'm sure itl be some soppy ballad and with those kinda songs they tend to do well see Thinking out loud, Say you won't let go, 7 years etc

Definitely no need for a physical CD. Glad they made that decision, focus on digital sales and streaming is where it's at.

Also can't believe Leona's team would be offered X Factor UK and do a concert in Budapest instead. I think there could be a surprise here surely? 10 years of X Factor and she made the show what it is today, let's not forget that.

Well she had already been booked for the Hungary concert and its a big thing every year, huge production numbers and orchestra and she is doing three songs, FUMF, Bleeding Love and I See You.

Plus they are using her name as the main promo really,

It would be really unprofessional and very unfair of her to pull out of it just so she can probably sing an old song on the X Factor again, I'd much rather see I See You performed on that stage.

Without there being a 10 year anniversary, I really don't see why XF would be inviting Leona at all. I don't think I believe she had to turn them down.

Except physicals are likely what kept Louisa in the top 10 last year? I'd say there's a definite need for a physical!

It got #2 on sales, #4 on downloads and #9 officially

I am aware of this, but without physicals, her sales would have been lower and alongside low streams, she may have lost her top 10 placing, which was my point - goes to show the importance of a physical still for the winning single.

This might help. It had first week sales of 39,196 copies with 3,545 of those being streaming points but out of the 35,651 it actually sold, it never mentioned how many of those were physical copies otherwise if it did, it would have been able to tell us if the physical copies is what kept it in the top 10

If the concert is 10 December, can't she perform on the final on the 11th?? It's not that far to fly from Hungary to London!

Maybe she is not that bothered, Syco dropped her and she flopped hard with her last release - she has nothing new to promote so it's not like she's going to gain a huge sales boost or hit off the back of it.

It's not that surprising. She'll likely make a lot more money doing the Budapest concert than having a one off performance on X-factor. Hoping that OMS will be used or something for Christmas week. Maybe a group performance or a contestant singing it.

Also, the lack of a physical is likely going to really hurt the winner's single sales. Especially if it's an original song, the physical could've helped hugely. Can't see the X-factor winner's song getting to #1 at all now.

What is FUMF? Acronyms really need to be banned on here.

She might not have anything to promote but keeping her name out there to 7-8m viewers for the cost of a flight from Budapest the day after her gig isn't something she should be turning down.

^ Fire Under My Feet, I expect it's used a lot in the Leona artist forum so easy to forget not everyone will know what it is!

Well, presuming that the people who bought the physical wouldn't have downloaded it. I agree most of them probably wouldn't.

I'm not sure it really matters though - the winner's single only going in at 9 is already a big flop, maybe going in at 11 wouldn't have been much worse.

Is there any reason Leona couldn't pre-tape a performance for XF?

They can accomplish a lot through the magic of television, I hear!

I don't get this Leona thing. She hasn't got new material, or even a label. There's no 10 years celebration thing for her to be involved with this year, she hasn't been success for quite a while... having her on really wouldn't make sense. Just imagine, Adele, Little Mix, Weeknd, James Arthur, Ariana Grande and... Leona Lewis singing an old song. It would be so bizarre without there being some kind of gimmick attached to it.

Last years X-factor final?

If she were to perform I'd like to see a group performance of "One More Sleep" with her involved, like what Busted did a few weeks ago. Or she could perform "Ave Maria" - I think that'd be stunning. :)

Yes, but if you read my post it says 'there's no 10 year's anniversary' this year. They did Fleur/Little Mix and Leona/Ben Haenow mash-ups. It would be a lot more random for her to just pop up for a performance this year along side a lineup of artists who are relevant in 2016 and actually have a record label.

That's not saying I wouldn't want her to perform, a One More Sleep resurgence would be very welcome, I just don't believe that she was asked again this year as I wouldn't see the logic.

She did win 10 years ago, so they would celebrate "10 year's anniversary of Leona Lewis winning the X-Factor"
