Now really starting to wonder if "Rise Up" is going to be the winner's single

Seems quite likely, it's surely a too little-known song to be plugged as much as it has been with no ulterior motive. Guess they're trying to get viewers used to it so it sounds instantly recognisable by the time the final rolls around.

I don't remember them plugging Forever Young at all last year, and it just seemed like the most random choice of winner's single ever, mainly because it's really not that anthemic at all, despite the efforts they made to try and make it so. Rise Up ticks all the usual boxes lyrically and musically that Forever Young failed to tick.

I'm quite surprised. The song is insanely shite but look who's currently #01 on iTunes. When has that ever stopped things -shrug-
the James Arthur song is much better, like him or hate him, the song has melody, the Niall song is completely flat

The James Arthur song is also a rip off :heehee:

It amazes me that Niall isn't doing that great.

Why? Its dire.

I think it's really good!

I think whenever Harry Styles releases a solo single, that'll be a huge #1 smash. This Niall track don't sound one!

Niall is doing great, when was #5 on iTunes and looking to be top 10 this week ever not great? :P

When you're a member of the biggest pop group in the world and this is your highly anticipated debut single

I do genuinely think though if the song was better and more catchy song, it would have a shot at #1. As it is though, a Top 10 finish on Friday would be fine for him.

Famous - Nathan Sykes  #28

How exactly? Apart from Sykespital FM plays there must be something else

Really baffled at how badly Years & Years 'Meteorite' has done... 40 on iTunes and not t200 on Spotify..... has their popularity declined? I expected Worship to perform badly as everybody had owned their album at that point but Meteorite is new material and they've always done well on streaming so why the flop? I actually really like the song.

It's really weird - it was even in a film! Such a catchy song.

I was going to say why is he rising

Is he coming for a James Arthur style surprise hit?

Who knows...potentially. It's on hot songs too.

Radio2 gave it a play on Saturday, so may also get support there.
