Yeah, it's quite the step down. Loads will tune in for Little Mix, Ed and possibly Katy and Bruno but some of those names really aren't a big draw. Emeli is a terrible slot really, her era has massively underperformed and I hate to say it but Skepta is very nieche, though he's an interesting choice for sure.

It's hardly surprising given 2016 was a pretty poor year for music.
When did ITV first broadcast The Brits? Just out of curiosity. Would any other channel be able if they wanted to broadcast the Brits by beating ITV for the right to broadcast it?

BBC had the rights all the way up to 1992, and ITV took over then and have broadcasted it every year ever since. I quite like the ITV broadcasting style.

Just if anyone wants to look, here's last years BRITs thread~

2016

Is there a prediction thread for winners somewhere?

I don't think there is! Go for it!

I still feel like there should be another performer or two which hasn't been announced yet. So far only 8 confirmed, and last year there was 9. The show seems to have been scheduled slightly longer as well this year.

I feel like there'll be one more, too. Since his album has been announced for April, I feel like we might possibly get Harry Styles debuting his single?

Maybe Stephen Mulhern's Justin Bieber tipoff could be true after all
So Ed Sheeran said on Radio 1 he's dropping two new songs on Friday, one of them which he's debuting at the Brits, and he hinted to it being a collab, which he's done really well to 'manage to keep secret' and it's a 'big surprise'. I know the album doesn't list any colabs, but I guess it could be added after the reveal.

Could it be the Major Lazer collab?

Or even one with Drake entitled “17 weeks at number 1 thanks to streaming equivalent sales” *.*

I'm guessing the two songs are

Ed Sheeran - 20 Weeks At #1 [feat. Justin Bieber, Drake & The Chainsmokers]

Ed Sheeran - I Want 5 Songs In The Top 5 (So Here's Another Album Track You'll Buy)

It's getting beyond silly now. He just wants to occupy the top 5.

He'll have 8 or 9 spots of the Top 10 on the chart published 10th March.

That's bloody brilliant  So so excited for the BRITs now!
Legit he's gonna end up having the whole album at the top of the charts and everything else below him isn't he?
