Haha no. Maybe Richard Branson or Ashley Abram does

Maybe so!

When did you start getting an interest in Now albums btw? And is your username named after the main artist on Track 18 on Now 66 CD 1?

No. His name is spelt different and mine is my last name. I grew up around NOW albums. Everyone in my family was buying them and all of a sudden they stopped collecting them so I decided to carry on collecting them

But it is his last name too!

Two last questions, how many tracks do you like in Now 97 and which Now album is your favourite ever?

Just realised that both Quavo & Justin Bieber are on Disc 1 three times

And Quavo would have had a quadruple appearance if they included KNB

Regarding Shape of You, it's still selling quite a bit. My theory is that Ed is seeing how far sales will go before letting the NOW Team use it. So it may be on NOW 98. Perhaps do a One Dance and be track 1, disc 2. The only reason we got Castle On the Hill sooner rather than later is because it's sales proabably peaked thanks to it being overshadowed by Shape.

So you think it is Ed's record company not letting Now use any of his songs rather than the Now Team shunning him?

If so what is the reasoning behind it, surely his songs being on the Now album would see a chart boost for the tracks which Ed's record company would want.

The Now team certainly would not shun the biggest artist of the year if they had any choice over it. They exist to make money like any business so they'll want the biggest and most popular tracks they can get on it.

It does just seem to be a case of Ed's team not wanting anything to affect Divide and Shape Of You's sales potential...for now at least. Spiral may be right, his songs might pop up again on Now 98 once they've faded from view in the charts.

Plus having one of the biggest selling songs of the year appaer on the Winter/end of year/Xmas edition will make a lot more sense.

I guess you could say... a Quavruple appearance ;)

Didn't you say Rich that Galway Girl features on another forthcoming compilation also by SONY? I wonder why they couldn't have appeased the Ed Sheeran fans by including that track, especially due to how short it is in length, there must have been a couple of minutes spare at the end of one disc?

Also, is there any indication that Galway Girl will continue to gain further sales in the future now that it has peaked at#2?

It's still quite baffling for me tbh.

Indeed. Yes it's very odd, I guess sometimes different territories have different licensing - Now South Africa has even had recent Beyonce songs!

I can understand if Ed's team wants Shape Of You held until the end of the year but yeah, they should have given Now Galway Girl, or even How Do You Feel, seeing as that got to No.2 and clearly isn't about to mount a comeback any time soon.

Done my version of NOW 97. Iconic Pop 13!

This year has been quite hard to put together a selection of good pop chart hits and shoulda-been-hits, I thought NOW 96 was hard to re-make, but NOW 97 was a lot tougher.

Iconic Pop 13

Disc 1:

01: Carly Rae Jepsen – Cut To the Feeling

02: Ariana Grande – One Last Time

03: Little Mix feat. Stormzy – Power

04: Shawn Mendes – There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back

05: Rita Ora – Your Song

06: The Chainsmokers & Coldplay – Something Just Like This

07: Martin Garrix & Troye Sivan – There For You

08: Jax Jones, Demi Lovato & Stefflon Don – Instruction

09: Zedd feat. Liam Payne – Get Low

10: Disciples – On My Mind

17: Ed Sheeran – Galway Girl

18: Shania Twain – Life’s About To Get Good

19: Niall Horan - Slow Hands

20: Hey Violet – Guys My Age

21: Paramore – Hard Times

22: Kasabian – You’re In Love With a Psycho

Disc 2:

01: DJ Khaled feat. Rihanna & Bryson Tiller – Wild Thoughts

02: Calvin Harris feat. Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry & Big Sean – Feels

03: Liam Payne feat. Quavo – Strip That Down

04: Selena Gomez – Bad Liar

Yes, I started Disc 1 off with Carly Rae Jepsen, so what! It's everything a summer pop-banger should be!

Originaly a South African design, but it's so pretty! I love these designs.

Also they're releasing "NOW That's What I Call Tailgate Anthems" - but I don't know what that means

Yeah, they've literally missed off all the actual good hits of the last 3 months. Really like all of the above excluded songs with the exception of Zayn.

Also they're releasing "NOW That's What I Call Tailgate Anthems" - but I don't know what that means

From Wikipedia:

A tailgate party is a social event held on and around the open tailgate of a vehicle. Tailgating, which originated in the United States, often involves consuming alcoholic beverages and grilling food. Tailgate parties occur in the parking lots at stadiums and arenas, before and occasionally after games and concerts.

Quite certain it will be heartland rock and maybe some country then (expect Kid Rock - All Summer Long to appear)

And I'd also replace HAIM with Imagine Dragons
