Great that you had a good time, Syd. All the reviews I read until now, especially the Irish are great. They often point out that Rob is aside of a fgreat shownman well aware of his place in this time, but that he is far away of being finished. I hope his back will get better than we might see some other tours to come

I don't think "being finished" ever crosses his mind Elisabeth. Not nowadays anyway.

Still playing to stadiums after 27 years - as I've said a million times - his character won't change with age and neither will his hits. If his body allows him to, I think he will always perform. It's literally in his blood isn't it?

yes it is Laura, and I like to read so many great critics. I do not understand however if it is meant well or not when some say that he does not take himself so serious and give people some karaoke like perfromances. Isn't this what a 'serious' musician would hate.

It does not seem to be meant negative by the writers though.

If I go out for a night I like to enjoy myself & you are guaranteed that at a Robbie gig , it's a bit of a sing a long but that;'s what people want

He got the best reviews ever from the music mags when he released Rudebox & that is where the serious side of his songwriting comes in but he is right that when people go to his shows they want to hear the hits. I have my own preference for setlists but it will never happen because most people in the audience would not know the words to the songs. Robbie picks the songs that suit stadiums /arenas.etc . Some people might call it Karaoke but you need that atmosphere in a big stadium otherwise it can be very flat & that in turn becomes boring . He knows what he is doing & what works , he feeds off the reaction of the crowd , he is very good at that .

Laura, Betterman , Elisabeth. Are any of you going to see him soon

I understand what you mean Elisabeth. He's said himself he's given up trying to be taken seriously and just gets on with what he does best - entertaining the masses and being a "man of the people". To get the masses singing and uniting as one - that's what he does best, he knows how to make it look easy and that's what the newspapers recognise.

It might not be "cool" in the true sense of the word although personally I find it pretty cool that his songs can keep 50,000 people a night feeling positive in these turbulent times we're living through. That's no mean feat. B-)

Friday! :yahoo: :w00t: :cheer:

"a fitting statement from a singer who's the epitome of resilience and authenticity in an increasingly bland world of manufactured music. "

This says it all :)

So glad you had a good time Tess and that the weather was with you. The atmosphere looked amazing.

I'm not expecting London to match that but if it can be anywhere near as good - I will be very happy. ;)

I am seeing him on Friday, first time I've ever seen him live apart from when he reunited with Take That!

Hope you have a lovely time. ^_^

BTW, there are rumors he will join Take That at their concert in Norwich (June 23).

A few words about stage on Robbie's Tour.

I really like this, it's fun and well-produced looking at videos, etc.

But by my opinion 3D stage would be much cooler, especially because the main topic of the album is boxing.

I'm sure his production team thought about this but maybe his health is a reason why they chose the different type of stage.

Anyway i like that Take That performs at 3D stage now.

I still remember U2 concert in 2009/2010 and still can't choose what was better view for me: seating or standing. Both views were amazing.

I saw Adele performed at the similar scenes and it looks fantastic as well...

There were tv cameras in Dublin so I wonder when we will see that footage

I was not that keen on the actual stage, either my eyesight is getting really bad but I found the setting rather dark , I am interested to know what you folks think when you see for yourself , maybe it is my eyes
