yep, shame it didn't get enough Spotify Payola for it to make the official UK top 100. It did briefly make the Spotify top 100 though.

Waterfalls was a great BJSC entry and surprise hit! although I did know the song beforehand.

Er... 2 of the best songs of the year not even going top 40 for you, wot.

Good to see Waterfalls here, easily one of the best BJSC entries!

Shame about Rinse & Repeat! Big tune.
It's a big tune indeed though it kinda tired on me quickly as it's very minimal and repetitive.

Anti is much better than Rihanna's previous couple of albums for sure! Not perfect but I enjoyed it, will be in my albums top 30 :D

Out of that section I know and like Hurt So Good, False Alarm and Close, great start!

Agreed there, it's not perfect but no Rihanna album has been.

False Alarm & Rnse & Repeat are great! Shame both missed, but I think I will enjoy most of the songs on this list!
You probably will :D

Makes up for you not charting Calvin Harris's singles this year :P

Waterfalls was a great entry, there's more of those to come though including from Dobago!

Hands to Myself is superb! Selena has been on fire this past year and a half I think, really excited for what she'll do next.

ADORE Tears also

Touché (at least Olé was a top 3 although he wasn't credited on it).

Yes looking forward to the Dobago entries

It is great for a teen pop artist, although I think she's trying to mature now. The whispery vocals really work for it and it's got a nice beat.

Hopefully 'Tears' and 'Rockabye' make it to your EOY top 100. :magic:

Olé doesn't sound like a Calvin Harris produced song even if it was one tho  Speaking of which, Olé is at #269 in the EOY and peaked at #39 weekly.

You may have to wait a bit for the highest Dobago entry too

#240. Major Lazer (feat. Nyla and Fuse ODG) - Light It Up (Remix)
345 points
...-29-46-40-61-71-71-x-87-x(4)-73-86-x

Major Lazer really lit up the charts with this smash, although I didn't love this half as much as the UK population seemed to. It really did overstay its time in the UK top 20 anyway, but it is a good tune.

#239. MØ - Kamikaze
345 points
...-53-38-38-44-68-84-86-79-89-90-99-x-99-x

From Major Lazer to MØ, this got a bit of a new year's boost back in to the top 40 (it previously peaked at #19) and stayed in the chart long enough to make this top 250 countdown. A great solo effort here although she'd outdo herself with 'Final Song', still to come.

#238. The Writer's Block - If You Love Me
347 points
...-9-14-10-43-82-x

This was just at its peak around this time last year, it's a nice house remake of the 90s RnB song of the same name although it really did fall off quick oops.

#237. Lucky Charmes - Bobotie
347 points
60-54-46-43-40-46-71-x

Lucky Charmes got signed to Spinnin' this year and this was one of their releases, a fun housey remake of 80s hit 'Double Dutch' - just the instrumental bit though, which works well.

#236. Sia - The Greatest
347 points
65-80-56-55-73-82-93-92-65-60-69-75-...

Well this is a decent commercial smash, have to say 'Cheap Thrills' is much better and that will be higher up. It was quite unlucky to miss my top 50 here but makes up for it with longevity.

#235. Arston - Light
349 points
70-32-30-37-50-56-83-x

We discovered this whilst searching for entries to the BJSC spin-off 'Worldvision', where we were given the task of finding a song by a Belarusian artist. It's a nice trance instrumental and did us well.

#234. LP - Lost On You (Addal Remix)
349 points
70-53-55-49-52-64-60-56-...

I first heard this as a live version entered to BJSC, which I really couldn't get into. Months later I looked for remixes and came across this one which turns it into a chill house effort whilst still keeping the soul of the original version.

#233. Daydreamer - Travelling Light
350 points
90-31-17-25-38-55-x

Another BJSC related song now, this one came up in a contest and we loved it. It's a great long instrumental track with many different parts to it, it all works so well.

#232. Tory Lanez - LUV
353 points
68-40-28-28-39-62-94-96-x

At one point this looked like being a proper UK hit but alas it never happened, though it's spent a while in the top 75. Decent RnB hit from Tory Lanez who was big in the US this year.

#231. Jason Derulo - Get Ugly
355 points
49-20-34-42-47-73-87-x

This isn't too brilliant really, Jason has done better before. It's quite fun though at least.

Liking lots so far! Hurts So Good, Kamikaze (though I much prefer MO's other solo efforts!), The Greatest, Hands To Myself (in my top 3 Selena tracks she's done!), Aide and Tears

good to see. there'll be a few more songs you like in here I think.

I had forgotten about Kamikaze, great track from the start of the year :music:
It was from last year actually, but it's great. :music:

I never even realised you charted Bobotie :o really good track that.

Love Lost On You (though not heard that particular remix) & Travelling Light here.

Just tuned into your EOY chart, and interesting seeing how you format it all.

I'm not sure I will do an EOY chart this year, I only commenced my personal chartsnin August.

But I may come round to the idea in time.

You could just skim through the charts of the rest of the year you didn't do your personal chart for and add notable tracks from there & other notable tracks that come into your head :D

Bobotie is a bit of a choon~

You'd like the remix I think, it's not that different to the original it just has a dance beat to it instead. Though I guess you'd prefer the original if that's what you're familiar with.

I'd definitely read and comment in your EOY if you do one! but I guess it is hard to do without a weekly personal chart archive. ^_^

#230. TroyBoi - And Wot?
355 points
66-45-45-41-74-57-69-x-72-85-x

This eventually made its way into Radio 1's INMWT list but never really took off sadly. It's quite a unique house bop and hopefully not the last we've seen of TroyBoi.

#229. Sasha - Xpander
360 points
19-9-16-30-71-x

The 90s progressive house tune that is 'Xpander' made its way into the chart briefly after being entered to BJSC. Definitely one to hear if you love dance music as this is widely considered as a proper classic.

#228. Steve Void and Alex Adair - Burnin'
361 points
72-34-12-21-39-67-x

Taking a sample of 'Set Out Your Loving' Alex Adair alongside relatively unknown artist Steve Void made this banger, though it's a long way off the brilliance of last year's 'Make Me Feel Better' (top 10 in last year's EOY chart).

#227. High Contrast - Remind Me
361 points
97-64-33-31-21-35-65-x

In a world where there isn't as many good drum n' bass songs being produced at least High Contrast made a great tune with 'Remind Me' which Radio 1 really loved but sadly that didn't translate into any UK chart success.

#226. John Gibbons - Your Love
362 points
...-7-8-17-30-81-x

This just peaked at the start of the tracking period after a slow buildup but unfortunately didn't last long in the chart afterwards. At least it wasn't the last we saw of John Gibbons though as he returned later this year with 'Would I Lie To You' which is still to come.

#225. Boehm (feat. Molly Moore) - Swallow My Pride
365 points
91-79-99-78-64-74-69-48-28-48-68-x

This stood out as a great future bass song earlier this year, I do love a good vocal chopping which is there in the drop.

#224. KSHMR - JAMMU
373 points
...-31-35-29-38-56-75-73-98-x

This peaked at #1 last year and made the EOY top 10. We catch it here at the tail end of its chart run. Brilliant tune, I may add.

#223. Rihanna - Kiss It Better
373 points
44-89-69-83-x-59-39-46-43-75-90-x

This took a while to get going but it is great and deserved better as a single. Although it did only just make my own top 40 and for Rihanna that is a bit of an underperformance. Not to worry though as it is the first of seven entries for her.

#222. A. G. Cook - Superstar
377 points
73-35-34-31-34-58-72-94-x

A. G. Cook does make some good music although he hasn't been very active recently. We did get this though which featured his own singing voice (although bring back the high pitched vocals a la 'Beautiful' tbh).

#221. CLMD (feat. Alida) - Night Train
377 points
83-49-40-31-44-59-68-87-95-88-89-x

Good progressive house tune here, I do love the keyboard riff in the drop and the vocal is quite decent too.

Light It Up is fantastic, one of my favourite dance songs of the past year! Also love Kamikaze and The Greatest from the last couple of batches :D
